ONIC had defeated CFU Gaming in their opening match of MSC 2025. The MPL ID Season 15 champions had showcased their best form and had proven their capability as one of the most remarkable teams in the tournament.

ONIC ID had entered MSC 2025 with high ambition. After having failed to reach the playoffs in MSC 2024, they clearly had learned from past mistakes and had come prepared to redeem themselves.

CFU Gaming was no easy opponent. As champions of Cambodia and the first team to qualify for MSC 2025, they had arrived with strong momentum. However, the gap in experience and mental composure had favored the Indonesian powerhouse, and ONIC secured the series with a 2-1 victory.

CFU Surprised in Game One

CFU had come out swinging in the first game. They had played extremely aggressively and left ONIC scrambling. ONIC seemed caught off guard and slow to warm up.

Letting Wanwan through the draft had raised some questions. ONIC had opted to exchange it for Yi Sun-Shin, but Wanwan’s power spike had proven too overwhelming.

While ONIC did not dominate, they had improved significantly compared to the first game. CFU appeared more reckless and less disciplined this time.

Despite finding some momentum, CFU lost control due to repeated overcommits from their core players. Kairi and Savero capitalized on those mistakes brilliantly.

ONIC’s superior target selection allowed them to seize critical moments and close out Game Two cleanly. The series was tied at 1-1.

Forced into Tank Jungler, CFU Fell to ONIC

One of the biggest question marks for CFU had been their insistence on playing Fredrinn as their jungler, even with several META jungle heroes available.

As Game Three began, ONIC returned to their peak form. CFU found no room to breathe, and resistance was minimal.

ONIC took full control of the map, choking CFU out of objectives and skirmishes. With that, ONIC sealed the match with a dominant performance and secured a 2-1 victory to kick off their MSC 2025 campaign in style.
