FNATIC Defeats RRQ, the King's Debut at Valorant Champions 2025 Hasn't Been a Smooth One

The match between RRQ and FNATIC will take place on Monday, September 15, 2025, with both teams playing in a best-of-three (BO3) series with the map order being Ascent (selected by FNATIC), Abyss (selected by RRQ), and Corrode as the deciding map. For your information, the winner of this match will face MIBR, the team that won their previous match against BiliBili Gaming (BLG).

Playing in Game 1, Ascent, FNATIC took the lead early by securing the first pistol round. A score tie ensued, but FNATIC maintained their lead. RRQ briefly equalized the score, but FNATIC repeatedly demonstrated their capabilities as a world-renowned team. Chronicle's flawless play hampered the King's progress.

The first half ended with a score of 7-5, with Xffero scoring the final clutch to close out the round for RRQ. FNATIC secured another pistol round in the second half. Having taken the lead, RRQ managed to catch up with a quick entry to the B site. Trying to play towards the A site, RRQ's strategy was thwarted by FNATIC. In the deciding round, Kaajak was taken down in the mid area. RRQ attempted to penetrate the B site. Crashies and Chronicle stood guard, trying to defend. Boaster and Alfajer remained, and a 2v4 situation ensued. The Spike was deployed, but one by one, RRQ's players began to be taken down. Boaster took down Jemkin in a 2v2 situation. Alfajer finally sealed the victory for FNATIC with a score of 13-10 after taking down Xffero and Monyet, the two remaining RRQ players.

Moving on to game 2, Abyss, RRQ played quite well in the first pistol round as the attackers. With the Spike deployed, RRQ managed to take down two FNATIC players, Crashies and Boaster. The 1v2 situation left Chronicle facing Monyet and Crazyguy. Although two RRQ players were eliminated, the King secured the first two rounds after FNATIC decided to kill the second round.

FNATIC slowly responded by securing a bonus round. A score tie ensued, with RRQ taking the lead. The first half ended with a score of 7-5 in RRQ's favor. FNATIC began to fight back in the second half, with Boaster and his teammates performing brilliantly. Clutch after clutch by Boaster made RRQ struggle. FNATIC secured match point, and in the deciding round, RRQ's players were picked off one by one, ultimately securing a perfect 13-7 victory.
