April 2019 will be the end of the Heisei Kamen Rider. After the abdicate of Emperor Hirohito and eventually succeeded by his son, the Heisei Kamen Rider era also present, marked with the appearance of Kamen Rider Kuuga which was aired in 2000 and ended with Kamen Rider Zi-O which just aired at the beginning of September 2018.

Now at the end of said era, a Japanese web called toratame.jp held a poll about the best Heisei Riders according to Japanese fans. The vote was successfully participated by 5.000 people. Now from all 20 titles, who is listed as the favorite Heisei Kamen Rider?

10. Kamen Rider Kiva

• Total votes: 199

Kiva was firstly aired in January 2008 and ended in January 2009. This Kamen Rider is the only one in the series that takes the story from two timelines, in which the original Kiva in the 2008 and the Kiva’s predecessor in 1986.

9. Kamen Rider Ex-Aid

• Total votes: 205

Ex-Aid is one of Kamen Rider with out of the box idea. The story revolves around life, video game, and doctor. The protagonist is a doctor who uses weapons and clothes from a video game.

8. Kamen Rider Blade

• Total votes: 211

Firstly aired in 2004, Blade becomes one of the first Heisei riders. Blade shows a hero who uses cards to change and activates numerous attacks.

7. Kamen Rider Kabuto

• Total votes: 242

This Kamen Rider was aired in 2006 to celebrate the 35 years of the franchise as well as using a bug as the theme and base motif of the costume as well.

6. Kamen Rider Ryuki

• Total votes: 258

Kamen Rider Ryuki gives a surprise to fans because the story introducing 13 Kamen Rider fighting each other. Ryuki is the first in the series to make an antagonist able to transform into a Kamen Rider.

5. Kamen Rider Kuuga

• Total votes: 286

Kuuga becomes the first Kamen Rider after 10 years of absence as well as the opening of Heisei Kamen Rider. The story in Kamen Rider Kuuga shows the drama side and reality rather than the typical superhero story.

4. Kamen Rider OOO

• Total votes: 312

If Kamen Rider W heavily shows the Western culture, then Kamen Rider OOO rather heavily shows the Japanese culture mixed with Asia and Buddhist culture.

3. Kamen Rider W

• Total votes: 689

Kamen Rider W (Double) is the first Kamen Rider title to begin the second phase of Heisei. Similar to Kuuga who surprised the fans, Kamen Rider W also taking a new concept which is very unique where it takes two people to transform into one Kamen Rider.

2. Kamen Rider Den-O

• Total votes: 765

After Kamen Rider's popularity starting to decrease among fans and kids in Japan, Den-O which taking the Heisei Kamen Rider filled with laughs and gags manages to raise back its prestige of legendary tokusatsu franchise.

1. Kamen Rider 555

• Total votes: 874

Kamen Rider 555 (Faiz) manages to claim the most vote and becomes the most favorite Heisei Kamen Rider among Japanese fans. Kamen Rider 555 has the most unique story, where the focus is divided equally between hero, villain, and others who don’t include on either side.
