GKIDS, a movie distribution company specializing in Japanese animation, recently premiered The End of Evangelion in US theaters. The movie was originally released in 1997 as an alternate ending to the hit television anime series Evangelion.

GKIDS has successfully secured the license to show the movie in North America in 2020 and release it in various formats such as Blu-ray Disc and digital download in the same year.

In addition to The End of Evangelion, GKIDS is also screening the latest movie in the Evangelion franchise, Evangelion: 3.0+1.01: Thrice Upon A Time (Shin Evangelion Gekijo-ban :||). The movie is the final part of the Evangelion tetralogy re-imagined by Hideaki Anno.

It premiered in select IMAX theaters in the United States in November 2022, before being broadcast in all U.S. theaters in December 2023. GKIDS also released the film on Blu-ray Disc and Collector's Edition 4K UHD in October 2023.
