Cover Corp announced that they have opened the first batch of male Virtual YouTubers auditions under the group hololive English. According to the press release in English, each applicant must have live streaming experience, and be able to appear as a male character even if the applicant is not male.

Another requirement is that each applicant must be able to speak English fluently, be able to stream at least three times a week for at least one year, and be at least 18 years old. Holostars, the male spin-off of hololive with male idols, also posted a video advertisement of the recruitment on its YouTube channel.

Those who are interested in auditioning can register via the online form. The deadline had not been determined at the time the press release was announced. Applicants who pass to the next stage will be contacted within one month after their application is submitted. Previously a new audition round for female Vtubers was launched on December 28, 2022.

hololive 1st-gen made its debut in 2018. More than 50 Virtual YouTubers are currently under hololive. According to the agency's English website, Hololive has around 50 million fans on YouTube. The talents appear using 2D and 3D avatars provided by the company.

hololive English announced its first group, "Myth", in September 2020. The second group, "Council", debuted in August 2021. holostars featuring male idols debuted its first generation in June 2019.
