Lionsgate has recently released a trailer for the Hunger Games prequel, Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. This movie adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ novel, will be the first entry of the Hunger Games franchise since 2015. Here’s the official trailer for Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes:

As we can see from the trailer, the movie is going to have a retro vibe. It’s because The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes takes place 64 years prior to the events from the main series. Instead of Katniss Everdeen, the story follows young Coriolanus Snow, who’s the villain in the main trilogy, with a female District 12 tribute named Lucy Gray Baird during the 10th Hunger Games.

The trailer also features all the main cast, from Tom Blyth who plays Coriolanus Snow, Lucy Gray (Rachel Zegler), Casca Highbottom (Peter Dinklage), as well as Viola Davis who plays Dr. Volumnia Gaul. Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is directed by Francis Lawrence, who directed all Hunger Games entries except for the first one. This movie is slated for a release on November 17, 2023. Fans of the franchise certainly wouldn’t want to miss this one.
