All of the upper moon demons finally appear where they face Kibutsuji Muzan after Gyuttaro's death at the hands of Tengen Uzui. The upper moon demon that appears is of course Kokushibo who is the first upper moon demon. He is a figure who clashes with Akaza.

So who was Kokushibo's first upper moon demon? Curious who he is? Let's discuss one by one.

1. Become the Highest After Kibutsuji Muzan

Kokushibo is the main supporting antagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a demon affiliated with the Kizuki Twelve, holding the highest position, Rank One Upper as well as Kibutsuji Muzan's right-hand man.

Nearly five centuries ago during the Sengoku Era, Kokushibo was once a human named Michikatsu Tsugikuni before becoming a powerful demon and merging with Muzan. Kokushibo is also the ancestor of Muichiro Tokito and Yuichiro Tokito and the one responsible for turning Zenitsu Agatsuma's senior, Kaigaku, into a demon.

2. Moon Breathing Technique User

Moon Breathing is a technique Kokushibo uses. He was the first demon to use this Breathing Style. His Breathing Style, in particular, is one of the most dangerous and powerful displayed so far.

Perfected with his blood arts technique, he can create many crescent-shaped swords when slashing. Kokushibo has continued to cultivate this Breathing Style and has created more than a dozen techniques during his centuries of life as a demon.

3. Nichirin-Sword User

As a former Demon Slayer and user of the Breathing Style, Kokushibo wields a modified version of the Nichirin Sword. As could be seen from its appearance, the weapon was crafted from his own flesh and blood, and due to the incredible durability and toughness of its body, its blade was as sharp as an ordinary Nichirin Sword.

The blade was blood red, with veins and eyes all around the blade and even the hilt. However, it is not known whether these eyes can be used to expand his vision.

His katana tsuba is circular with 4 small indentations, a center with 3 eyes and some black veins and gold edging. He also carried a scabbard on his waist that had the same fleshy appearance as his katana.

4. His Position Almost Changed

Kokushibo has challenged three times for his position. One of these battles involved Akaza. While Kokushibo would normally absorb a demon he defeated, he let Akaza live because he enjoyed the challenge.

5. His Human Appearance

As a human, Kokushibo's appearance is almost identical to his demon form, except for the number of eyes, prominent eyebrows, and less pale skin. His eyes had dark purple irises and normal white sclera like a human's.

As a child, he is usually seen wearing a white kimono as opposed to the purple-black patterned kimono he wore as an adult. But on the other hand, he had the appearance of a hideous demon when he was cornered.
