HoYoVerse announced Layla as a new playable character in the upcoming Genshin Impact version 3.2 via its official account. Layla is rumored to be a student of theoretical astrology at Darshan Rtawahist. Based on the leaks, she is said to be a character who has insomnia and can't fall asleep easily as she spends many long nights charting stars and writing research papers. Layla is rumored to be a 4-Star Sword wielder character of the Cryo vision. Here are the presumed abilities, materials, and constellations of Kayla. Without further ado, let's get into it.

Abilities

Normal Attack: Sword of the Radiant Path

Layla launches three consecutive attacks with her Normal Attack. When issuing her Normal Attack, the animation of this ability also casts star powder. Meanwhile, when issuing a charged attack, Layla will consume a certain amount of stamina to issue two slashes with her sword.

Elemental Skill: Nights of Formal Focus

This skill will activate Curtain of Slumber and cause Cryo AoE DMG and create a shield that can withstand DMG based on Layla's maximum HP. This shield also has 250% resistance to Cryo DMG. The animation of this skill is also beautiful, Layla is shown sleeping in the protection of her Cryo shield, so when the enemy tries to disturb her sleep, they will be hit by Cryo DMG.

As long as the Curtain of Slumber is active, it will produce 1 Night Star, which will be attached to the shield every 1.5 seconds. When the character inside the shield casts an Elemental Skill, it will also produce 2 Night Stars. One Night Star can be generated this way every 0.3 seconds with a maximum of 4 Night Stars. When the Night Star Curtain of Slumber reaches 4 pieces and there are enemies around, the Night Star will automatically turn into a Shooting Star that chases the target and inflicts Cryo DMG. When the shield is destroyed, the Night Star also disappears.

Elemental Burst: Dream of the Star-Stream Shaker

This skill releases Celestial Dreamsphere, which continuously fires Starlight Slugs at enemies within its radius, while simultaneously dishing out Cryo DMG at them. This Burst is more or less similar to Ganyu's Burst. After being hit by Starlight Slugs, it will produce 1 Night Star for the Curtain of Slumber. One Night Star can be generated every 0.5 seconds.

Ascension Materials

To max out Layla's level from level 1 to level 90, these are the materials you need. You can collect these materials from version 3.1. These materials raise Layla's character level and her talent. Here are the details of the materials.

Constellation: Luscinia

Constellation 1: Fortress of Fantasy

The DMG that Curtain of Slumber can hold from Night of Formal Focus will increase by 20%. In addition to that, when issuing Nights of Formal Focus, it will provide a shield to all characters who are not under the protection of the Curtain of Slumber. This shield can withstand 35% DMG. Curtain of Slumber shield lasts up to 12 seconds and has 250% defense against Cryo DMG.

Constellation 2: Light's Remit

When the Shooting Star of the Night of Formal Focus is hit by an enemy, it recovers 1 point of Layla's energy, which stacks up to a maximum of 1 energy point for each Shooting Star.

Constellation 3: Secrets of the Night

Increases three levels of Night of Formal Focus where the maximum level is level 15.

Constellation 4: Starry Illumination

When Night of Formal Focus fires a Shooting Star, it will give an Open Mind effect to all party members around, so that the DMG caused by Normal Attack and Plunging Attack will increase by 5% of Layla's Max HP. This effect will last for 3 seconds, and disappear 0.1 seconds after inflicting DMG.

Constellation 5: Stream of Consciousness

Increases three levels of Dream of the Star-Stream Shaker, the maximum level is level 15.

Constellation 6: Radiant Soulfire

DMG caused by Shooting Star from Night of Formal Focus is increased by 40%, DMG of Starlight Slug from Dream of the Star-Stream Shaker is increased by 40%. Aside from that, the Night Star lag that can be generated by the Night of Formal Focus is reduced by 20%.
