Attack on Titan does feature a lot of characters with differing personalities. Some of them have stolen the fans’ hearts, whereas some have received different treatment from fans mainly because of their role and personalities in the series.

On this occasion, Dunia Games would like to discuss the most hated characters in Attack on Titan. So, who are these characters? Without further ado, let’s get into it!

1. Annie Leonhart

Early in the series, Annie Leonhart has been a less-than-favorable character in Attack on Titan due to her cold, arrogant demeanor – a trait that made her distant from the fellow trainee in the Training Corps. Not just being resented by the other characters, most fans also feel uncomfortable with Annie’s mere presence, and the hatred grew even stronger once it’s revealed that she’s actually a spy.

2. Bertholdt Hoover

Bertholdt has never been really in the spotlight in Attack on Titan. A lot of fans aren’t fond of this character even before his true identity was revealed. Bertholdt would often his cowardness, and would regularly run to Reiner for help every time he got into trouble.

As fans, we’ve never had enough info about Bertholdt, which made it difficult for us to have sympathy towards his actions. Bertholdt eventually became a forgettable villain shortly after his death.

3. Armin Arlert

Armin is a male character who’s sensitive and full of emotions. On top of all of that, he’s physically weak. Armin can also be a coward – as he’s, on numerous occasions, often hesitant in crucial moments. This is detrimental to the fact that Armin is actually one of the most intelligent characters in Attack on Titan.

However, after the time skip in Attack on Titan Final Season, the hatred that fans had towards him has gradually faded away. Instead, fans are starting to love Armin for his heroic strategies.

4. Hange Zoe

Hange Zoe is one of the most disliked characters in Attack on Titan mainly because of their personality. Their excitable trait and obsession with making scientific breakthroughs made fans initially feel annoyed with their presence. A lot of fans felt that Hange can be such a nuisance – especially when this character was first introduced.

5. Zeke Yeager

Zeke is a villain who plays a major role in the main plot of Attack on Titan. He devised complex strategies to achieve his goal and has no problem with betrayal if it helps his goal. Fans began to develop a hatred towards Zeke after knowing his past.

6. King Fritz

If we had to single out a person responsible for the conflict between the Eldians and Marleyans, it would be King Fritz. King Fritz was a ruthless character who exploited his slaves to conquer the world in the name of the glory of the Eldian Empire. 

Fritz used Ymir’s Titan power to devastate the world and establish a conflict between Eldia and Marley, which continues centuries later. 

7. Yelena

At number seven, we have Yelena as one of the most hated characters in Attack on Titan. She’s obsessed with Zeke after knowing his ideals. Yelena formed the Anti-Marleyan movement, and she has no problem wiping out anyone who opposes her will or Zeke’s plan. This obsession has led to her becoming one of the most despised characters.

8. Eren Yeager

Since the very beginning of the series, Eren Yeager has never been the most beloved character due to his temper and his habit of letting his emotions get the best of him. Eren spends a lot of time shouting or crying, and he has little care for anything or anyone aside from his interests.

On top of that, Eren often takes rash actions that often result in others’ demise.

9. Floch Forster

Floch was introduced as a seemingly bland character, yet he has since taken a much bigger role in Attack on Titan Final Season. Floch is one of the Yeagerists and Eren Yeager’s biggest loyalist.

Floch believes that Eren’s plan for humanity is the only way to attain peace. He has no problem taking out the lives of the people in his own circle just to achieve that goal – which is the main reason why most fans aren’t fond of this character.

10. Gabi Braun

Last but not least, we have Gabi Braun, an arrogant, rowdy, and, sometimes, disrespectful character. She intimidates and punishes any Eldian who opposes her. Due to her less-than-favorable characteristics, Gabi easily becomes the most despised character in Attack on Titan.
