10. Honor of Kings (Arena of Valor)

Honor of Kings or usually known as Arena of Valor, is a game made by Tencent. The game by the Chinese developer is rich with Chinese cultures. One of the heroes is based on a Chinese mythological creature, Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong is a monkey that wanted to rule the world. But then he is tamed by Buddha after a long struggle. Wukong then accompanied monk Xuanzang on a journey from China to India and returned.

9. Assassin's Creed Chronicles

Assassin's Creed Chronicles has three main stories and one of them is set in China. Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China is set in 1526 and centered on a woman named Shao Jun.

After being trained by Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Shao returned to her homeland to take revenge on the Templar group, Eight Tigers. Shao Jun carried out her mission on Macau, Nan’an, Forbidden City, and even the Great Wall of China.

8. Perfect World

This MMORPG game is rich in Chinese culture. From the ecosystem that is full of bamboo and panda, the buildings that are identic with traditional Chinese buildings, and the item and equipment that are inspired by traditional Chinese clothing.

7. Shenmue III

The Shenmue 3 is the sequel to Shenmue 2 that was released on Dreamcast 14 years ago. Shenmue 3 was developed with Unreal engine 4 with new fighting styles but retain its open-world area and interaction from the previous game.

The player will control Ryo Hazuki, who looked for his father’s murdered in the Guilin mountains in China. You will also explore the Great Wall of China in the game.

6. Total War: Three Kingdom

In Black Myth: Wukong, you will control Sun Wukong, a demon monkey whose name is recorded in the legendary Chinese mythological creature. You will face many demons from Chinese mythology.

Romance of the Three Kingdom was a title of a novel. Koei then adapts the novel into a game. The Turn-Based Strategy game is set in the plains of China. There are 14 games from the Romance of the Three Kingdom franchise.

2. Sleeping Dogs 

Sleeping Dogs is an action-adventure game developed by United Front Game and published by Square Enix. The game was released to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The game set in Hong Kong tells the story of Wei Shen, Chinese-American police in disguise to infiltrate the Sun On Yee Triad.

The gameplay is centered around brawls, shooting, parkour, and gadgets from exploration. The player has to complete the missions to unlock every content and continue the story. But you are free to roam the world since this is an open-world game.

1. Dynasty Warriors Series

Dynasty Warriors is a hack and slash game that is very popular. The game is set during the Three Kingdoms era with crucial figures of the past such as Liu Bei, Cao Cao, Sun Jian, Lu Bu, and many more.

The game is inspired by the Romance of the Three Kingdom that ruled over China. If you love the story, then this is a game that you have to play. The Dynasty Warriors franchise is available from PS2 to PS4 and it’s also available on the mobile platform.
