This Is Why Eiichiro Oda Is Making One Piece Live Action Series Now!
This is the reason why One Piece Live Action will only be produced in 2023!
Anime & Manga | 29 August
Netflix shared a video of the meeting between the two Monkey D. Luffy actors, Inaki Godoy and Mayumi Tanaka. Inaki Godoy, who recently visited Tokyo, took time to meet the legendary figure in the One Piece anime, Mayumi Tanaka, who has been the voice of Luffy since 1999.
After visiting Shueisha's office, Inaki also met the author of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda. Inaki couldn't believe he could meet Oda in person. They also had time to talk. Oda also explained why he could choose Inaki as Luffy. The reason is because Inaki was able to make Oda laugh out loud.
Interestingly, Oda also answered Inaki's question about why he started One Piece Live Action. Oda was actually interested in making One Piece into a live action adaptation 26 years ago, when he started writing One Piece. Unfortunately, at that time it was still not possible because the technology was not yet advanced.
In 2023, with sophisticated CGI, Oda has been able to make his wish come true. The current CGI can make anything come alive, such as the sea monster that ate Shanks' hand. Look forward to One Piece Live Action which will air on Netflix on August 31st 2023!
