Here's Spider-Man: No Way Home Post-Credits Explanation!

Like other MCU movies, Spider-Man: No Way Home has 2 post-credits scenes. But this one is more special than usual. Here's the explanation!

Spider-Man: No Way Home is the third Spider-Man movie in collaboration with Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. This movie is the conclusion to the MCU's Spider-Man trilogy—at least for now. There's still no word on whether Tom Holland's Spider-Man will continue in the MCU or whether we'll actually switch to Sony's Spider-Man. However, we might get some clues from one of the two post-credits scenes featured in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Since this is an article explaining the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, of course there will be some spoilers from the movie. So, if you haven't seen the movie yet and don't want to get spoiled, we suggest you stop reading at this point and move on to another Dunia Games article.

SPOILER ALERT!!

Venom Cameo: Back to Sony Universe

In the mid-credits scene, Eddie Brock/Venom (played by Tom Hardy) appears in the MCU. In the scene, Eddie is shown drunk in a bar in Mexico. This scene itself is  a continuation of the post-credits scene from Venom: Let There Be Carnage where Eddie is thrown into the MCU universe because he finds out that Spider-Man is Peter Parker—as explained by Dr. Strange that all the characters that appear in the MCU are those who know Spider-Man is Peter Parker.

There is no explanation as to how Venom could recognize Spider-Man and Peter Parker. The theory that is circulating and is quite reliable today is that the Venom symbiote has a hive mind or mind that is connected between universes—especially the Venom symbiote in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man universe. This is enough to explain how Venom seems to recognize Peter Parker in the post-credits scene of Venom: Let There be Carnage.

Interestingly, this mid-credits scene confirms that Venom, Morbius and “Vulture” (from the Morbius trailer) are individuals from a different universe from the MCU. Then, at the end of the mid-credits scene, Eddie is returned to his universe. However, he had left a drop of symbiote fluid in the MCU.

Tom Hardy's appearance as Eddie Brock/Venom later—in whichever movie it is—is certain that he will not appear in the MCU. It could be that he reappeared in his own universe or even appeared in Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man universe (assuming Venom and The Amazing Spider-Man are in separate universes). Then, it will be interesting to see what will happen to the Venom symbiote left in the MCU.

Teaser Trailer Dr. Strange

The second post-credits scene is the teaser trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In this teaser trailer, Dr. Strange is trying to fully repair the damage caused by his failed magic in Spider-Man: No Way Home. He meets with Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch for advice on improving the multiverse.

The most interesting thing in this trailer is the appearance of Strange Supreme—a character introduced in the What If...? series. Strange Supreme himself is Dr. Strange, is a stronger version because it has absorbed the magic power of various creatures from various universes. He tries to save his dead lover but always fails and ends up destroying his universe.

In What If…? itself, Strange Supreme has earned his redemption arc by helping the Guardians of the Multiverse defeat Infinity Ultron and keeping Zola/Killmonger trapped in the pocket dimension. Enough to make us wonder why Strange Supreme in the trailer appears like an antagonist.

Besides Strange Supreme and Wanda, Mordo is back. But there is no info on whether he will be the main antagonist or even help fight Dr. Strange against Strange Supreme (if Strange Supreme is the antagonist). Well, let's just wait for further information regarding Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

One new character that appears in this movie is America Chaves, played by Xochitl Gomez. This character does not have a single sentence spoken in the trailer. All we know so far is that, in the comics, she had the ability to open portals between universes—which, in turn, made it possible for her to become one of the most important characters in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
