Once you accept the quest and the party is ready, players will be taken to a new area called the "Caverns of El Dorado".

There are three situations in how the Kulve Taroth Siege ends:

1. Players fail if they got killed three times; 
2. Players have killed Kulve Taroth;
3. Kulve Taroth has escaped. 

Regardless of the scenario, the party’s progress in terms of the objectives will be counted in total.

It’d be better for you to try to take your time as it will give you additional rewards at the end. When Kulve Taroth’s horn is broken, the Siege is over.

First Phase

The first phase in Kulve Taroth Siege is simple. Just try to keep your distance with Kulve Taroth and take down its gold plates, take every item that it drops. Its horns are valuable, but they’re so difficult to target. 

Get the best out of the environment — try to make the boulders fall on the monster as it will do a lot of damage to it. And, be sure to focus on the front side of the monster. Its head, front legs, and chest are particularly susceptible. 

Don’t worry too much about taking damage from the monster, as it won’t attack you during this phase.

Second Phase

Kulve Taroth will move to a more open space in the cave. This is where the monster gets more aggressive. Your goal remains the same, which is to focus on taking down its armor and destroying its parts.

Its attacks are quite simple and predictable during this phase. As long as you can read its attack patterns, you won’t have a hard time dealing with this monster.

Kulve Taroth likes to charge down on you and roll on the ground. And when it tilts its head back, Kulve Taroth will certainly use its fire attacks. So, be ready to dodge it!

Third Phase

After you have inflicted a good amount of damage, the battle will go to the Third Phase where you have to fight Kulve Taroth in a cave surrounded by lava. This is where the Cool Drinks you bring will come in handy.

Your focus should be the same, which is to focus on destroying its parts while dishing out damage. The difference is, this time, you’ll have different ways to take advantage of the environment.

The big boulders can fall on Kulve Taroth, then you can attack its torso or head once it’s pinned down.

Take Kulve Taroth to the lava area to make its gold plates more vulnerable to attacks. When the gold plates turn red, you can focus on attacking them until they come off.

Fourth Phase

Once its gold plates are taken down, Kulve Taroth will once again move to another area, which makes it the fourth and final phase. Here’s where the real fight begins. Without its armor, this monster is much more agile and aggressive.

Its fire attacks are much more powerful and have more reach. Kulve Taroth will occasionally blow up the ceiling, causing lava to drop to the floor throughout the fight.

Like other Elder Dragon fights, be ready to dodge a lot, and try not to take any damage.

After a while, you’ll be able to kill Kulve Taroth or the monster will escape. However, the most important thing is how far your party progresses and how many monster parts you destroy.

The horns are the most important parts. After each encounter, you can check your progress. The more objectives you complete, the better the rewards will be. 

The higher the level, the more valuable the items and weapons you’ll receive. When the Siege is completed, the objectives will be reset and players will be able to play the siege again to get more rewards.
