1. The Last of Us

The Last of Us is an action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog which was released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

The Last of Us was set in 2033, twenty years after the fungus pandemic that changed the human brains has spread and infected more than 60% of the world’s population. Since the outbreak, the world is in chaos when the officials try to keep everything under control.

Set in a post-apocalyptic United States, The Last of Us tells the story of the survivors -- Joel and Ellie when they work together to survive in their journey to the west across the remnants of the countries to find the cure for the fungus pandemic that has nearly destroyed the world. 

2. Detroit: Become Human

Detroit: Become Human is a neo-noir thriller cinematic game developed by Quantic Dream and released for PlayStation 4, and also Microsoft Windows (PC).

Set in Detroit in 2038, this city has been revitalized with the discovery and invention of androids into everyday life. But, when the androids start behaving as if they are alive, bad things start to happen.

Kara, Connor and Markus are the androids that you can play, each of them has their own problems. These three androids are present throughout the gameplay as they go on an emotional journey with choices to make.

The gameplay deals with various adult themes that explore the moral basis and the decisions made by the player will also determine what will happen later.

3. Persona 4 Golden

Set in 2011, this game starts with the protagonist being sent to the rural town of Inaba. He lives with his uncle, Ryotaro Dojima and his younger cousin Nanako Dojima. On his first day upon arriving at Inaba, the protagonist named Yu Narukami has a strange dream that teaches him to use Persona, especially Izanagi in a battle.

Through Chie, Yu and Yosuke realize that the urban legend called Midnight Channel is true. If you stare at the TV which is turned off at midnight on a rainy day, you will see a strange figure there.

Later, a TV announcer, Mayumi Yamano was found dead, hanging upside down on a telephone pole. This game focuses on Yu Narukami and his friends to find out the mastermind behind the mysterious murders that took place in Inaba.

4. NieR: Automata

NieR: Automata is a game that tells the story of the future where the humans are dealing with attacks from outer space. The aliens who want to destroy humans create killing machines that are only tasked with eliminating the human race.

Of course the humans don't stay still, they flee to the moon and create an Android force called YoRHa which is established to fight the aliens who want to destroy humans.

5. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The last game with the best story is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This game tells the story of the strong army that travels between worlds using a very powerful portal - called The Wild Hunt.

They wear armor like skulls and bring storms like winter to kidnap Ciri, a student of Geralt of Rivia and the daughter of King Emhyr who has the power to manipulate time and space due to her bloodline.

Geralt, who knows this, is certainly not staying still, he also tries to save Ciri and stop The Wild Hunt from taking advantage of Ciri.
