Graphic cards are still rare and expensive. What is the cause? Find out here.

As things develop, many people are looking for ways to be able to continue to make profits. Currently, the term miner is starting to be more popular, they are people who reap profit from mining cryptocurrency. There are various types of cryptocurrency that can be mined and sold at a decent price.
There are already many successful examples of miners profiting from mining cryptocurrencies. So people are tempted to try it. Even if you have to spend a lot of money.
To mine cryptocurrency, miners will usually use a set of computers that are dedicated to mining. The most important thing about the computer is the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) or also often referred to as VGA (Video Graphics Array). The higher the VGA specification used, the higher the possibility of getting more crypto money. This is influenced by the number of harsh rates or mining speed levels.
Because many people have jumped to become miners, VGA is getting rarer and the price has skyrocketed. So many people who want to assemble their own PCs are discouraged because the price of VGA is above their budget.
So, what is the reason for VGA’s scarcity and expensive price? Check out the list below to find out.
1. VGA Manufacturers Crisis
Did you know that VGA manufacturers like AMD and NVIDIA don't make their own GPU chips? They only develop and design the latest VGA until it becomes a final product that can be mass produced. Furthermore, AMD and NVIDIA will usually ask other manufacturers to produce them in large quantities.
One of the largest production companies entrusted by AMD and NVIDIA is TSMC which is located in Taiwan. TSMC or Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is a semiconductor manufacturing company capable of producing various chips or processors for companies such as AMD, Apple, NVIDIA, MediaTek, and others.
However, TSMC is currently experiencing a crisis. So they find it difficult to meet the demand for chips from various companies. This is because Taiwan is experiencing a severe drought, so that the need for clean water supply for chip and processor production is reduced and production is hampered.
It did not stop there, the political divisions between China and Taiwan also affected the condition of TSMC. Because there are many TSMC workers who are Chinese nationals, it is difficult to enter and leave their countries to work at TSMC.
Knowing the increasingly unfavorable situation, TSMC CEO, C.C. Wei revealed that the crisis of chip production at TSMC will continue until 2022. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic is still not over, so it’s still slowing down the production line to distribution. Most likely the VGA price won’t be normal until 2022.

2. Disrupted International Distribution Channels
The next factor that makes VGA rare and the price continues to soar is the disrupted distribution. Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the international shipping industry has experienced disruptions in shipping goods between countries and continents.
Citing Gizmodo.com, the delivery of goods between countries by sea is experiencing problems. This is because the port has difficulty entering goods. Coupled with the shortage of workers due to COVID-19 and the boom in e-commerce shipments becomes the biggest reasons why imported goods are difficult to enter the port.
Therefore, the owners of shipping services by sea are now setting a higher price than usual. This is done to cover losses caused by the pandemic. The increase in service prices also affects the price of goods, including VGA.
3. Scalper
Moments like this are also used by irresponsible folks who are looking to make massive profits, who are commonly referred to as scalpers or hoarders. Yup, scalpers usually buy all the remaining VGA stock and resell it at a higher price than the normal price. It's no wonder that some of the new VGA, such as the RTX 3000 series, are becoming very rare and the price is very far from the original price. Scalpers are also the main reason why VGA is rare and expensive.
So those are some of the reasons why VGA has become very rare and the price has become more expensive. Hopefully, the situation will recover quickly, so that the price and availability of VGA become normal.
