1. Choose the Class that Suits You Best
There are a total of six Classes that players can choose in Ragnarok X Next Generation. Each Class offers its own advantages -- thus you have to choose the one that suits you the most. Here are the Classes in Ragnarok X Next Generation:
- Swordsman
A Swordsman is a fighter whose skills are focused on a single target. This Class has the highest defense and tends to be on the frontline and serves as the team’s shield. This Class can be upgraded to various kinds of Knights:
- VIT Knight: excels in defense has high mobility, can pull aggro, and serve as the overall tank;
- AGI Swordsman: has high attack speed, short cooldown, and possesses support capabilities;
- Spear Knight: has high damage output yet suffers longer skill cooldowns.
- Archer
This Class uses a bow and arrows to attack opponents from a distance. This Class is quite popular due to the high damage output. Aside from that, Archers also have AoE skills -- allowing them to attack multiple targets at once. Archers are divided into several types:
- Trap Archer: benefits from their multiple trap skills giving them an easy way to kite enemies;
- Ranged Attack: has short channeling time for their skills and have a stable DPS;
- Falcon: can use their pet falcon to inflict additional damage as well as granting them a damage boost.
- Mage
At number three, we have Mages. These players dish out damage using their spells. Mages’ main strength is their tremendous AoE damage. However, they suffer from long skill casting duration compared to other Classes. Mages are divided into three:
- Ice, Lightning: focuses on damage combos and disruptive CCs;
- Fire, Ghost: has a short cast time, and has high defensive capabilities -- perfect for PvP;
- Fire, Earth: can inflict massive damage, yet has much longer casting time.
- Acolyte
Next up, is Acolyte, who’s also known as the team’s Support. Acolytes excel in protecting or supporting their allies, such as providing heals, buffs, or debuffs. They’re also divided into three types:
- Exorcist: can cast debuffs on opponents;
- Force: excels in melee damage, has a great defense, and regen abilities;
- Praise: can cast a list of buffs to help allies.
- Thief
Thief is known as the most agile Class in Ragnarok X Next Generation. A Thief relies on critical or poison damage to kill their opponents. This Class is divided into three categories:
- Crit Assassin: relies on basic attack crits and skill combos to inflict massive amounts of damage;
- Stealth Assassin: closes in on their targets using stealth to inflict instant damage;
- Poison Assassin: uses poison to dish out continuous poison.
- Merchant
Last but not least, we have Merchant. It’s the only Class that has Crafting and Cart Trading skills. To put it simply, Merchants excel in trading. There are three types:
- Flexible: relies on their pushcart to inflict damage, and has high flexibility on the battlefield;
- Berserker: has high attack damage with a focus on support skills;
- Zeny: powerful and can inflict high amounts of damage but at a cost.
2. Take on the Daily Quests
The next tip for those of you who have just started playing Ragnarok X is to take on the daily. Daily refers to the quests given to you every day. There are lots of daily in Ragnarok X Next Generation, which you can find in Carnival, such as:
- Daily Instance: A dungeon that will be unlocked once you’ve reached Level 21, where players have to fight bosses. It has two difficulties: Easy and Hard. And, by choosing Hard difficulty, you’ll be rewarded with rarer and higher quality items. You only have up to 3 chances to get EXP, Zeny, and rewards from the Daily Instance;
- Mission Board: You can complete a total of 10 missions that will be reset every day at 5 AM. Some missions will give you double EXP and Zeny. So, try to prioritize the missions with double EXP and Zeny rewards.
- COC Mission: It’s fair to say that these quests are quite demanding as you have to give certain materials to certain NPCs. You can get these materials from killing monsters or purchase them from the COD Merchant. COD Missions also reward you with tokens for gacha headgears, equipment, and cards.
- OX Quiz: Players with extensive knowledge will surely love this Carnival event. You will be gathering in an area and choose between Right (O) or Wrong (X). Each player has to be able to answer the questions correctly. If you manage to answer a lot of questions, you’ll get higher-quality rewards.
- Guild Order: A list of Guild quests where you have to spend several amounts of materials. By handing these materials, you’re making a contribution and helping your Guild to level up faster. Why do you have to level up your Guild? Because you will gain access to new features that will help improve your Guild. Guild Order is quite similar to COC Missions, but you don’t have to go back and forth to visit the NPCs.
- Tavern: Here, you can arm wrestle with other players. If you win, you will get a stamina potion, which is useful for your Life Skill.
3. Make the Best Out of Stamina and Odin’s Blessing
The next thing that any beginner should do is to use Stamina and Odin’s Blessing to their advantage.
- Odin’s Blessing: In case you’re not aware of it, in Ragnarok X Next Generation, you need Odin’s Blessing to get you more EXP and bonuses after killing opponents (5x Zeny, 5x EXP, and 5x Drop Rate). You can get Odin’s Blessing from completing the Mission Board and staying in Prontera. You can have up to 2,000 Odin’s Blessings.
- Stamina: Unlike Odin’s Blessing, Stamina is required to do various activities related to Life Skills, such as Fishing, Mining, Crafting, and Cooking. You can get Stamina from using Odin’s Blessing.
4. Complete Main and Sub Quests
The next tip we have for beginners is to take on the Main and Sub Quests. Main Quests are the primary missions that you can complete by following the main storyline. Usually, Main Quests will reward you with tons of Zenies and EXP.
Meanwhile, Sub Quests are side missions that have no relation to the main storyline. The rewards aren’t that attractive but are certainly useful to help you gradually level up your character.
5. Sell Your Items at the Exchange Center
Last but not least, beginners Ragnarok X Next Generation need to be aware of the trading feature at the Exchange Center. Exchange Center is a free-trade feature in Ragnarok X Next Generation where you can sell and buy items from other players.
To get Crystals, usually, you’ll need to sell items that are in demand at the Exchange Center. This way, you’ll be able to get more Crystals -- to be used to purchase other things.
