The official website for the second season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime has just announced exciting news, there will be a sequel adapting the "Culling Game" (Shimetsu Kaiyu) arc from the manga. Studio MAPPA, which has successfully delivered the Jujutsu Kaisen series brilliantly, will remain as producer for the continuation of this anime series. This announcement was reinforced by an announcement video which can be watched on the official website.

The second season features the conclusion of the Shibuya Incident arc, with its final episode airing on Thursday. The season first aired on July 6th on MBS and TBS along with 28 other affiliate channels.

Crunchyroll is also presenting the second season simultaneously with broadcasts in Japan, covering North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and the Commonwealth of Independent States. They also provide an English dubbed version for fans.

This second season has two courses to provide uninterrupted half a year of broadcasts. This anime adapts two arcs at once, namely the "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" ("Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu") arc and the "Shibuya Incident" arc from Gege Akutami's original work.

The "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" arc will air from July 6th to August 3rd 2023, followed by two compilation episodes on August 10th and 17th 2023. Meanwhile, the "Shibuya Incident" arc will start on August 31st 2023 and consists of 18 episodes.

Shota Goshozono, who previously directed episodes 8 and 17 of Jujutsu Kaisen, took over as director from Sunghoo Park. The television series Jujutsu Kaisen first aired in October 2020 and presented 24 episodes which were considered successful.

The anime movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which was released in Japan in December 2021, was then brought to the United States and Canada with English subtitles and English dubbing in March 2022.

Gege Akutami started the manga series in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018. Viz Media published the manga digitally and in print, while Shueisha also released it digitally through the MANGA Plus service.
