The nightmare about the exit of Spider-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is over. Good news came after Sony as the copyright holder of Spider-Man and Disney as the owner of MCU finally reaches an agreement to work together on the production of Spider-Man movies.
Citing from an entertainment world site, Variety, The President of MCU, Kevin Feige, expressed his joy with the new contract with Sony. “I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” Feige explained.
On the same occasion, Feige also stressed on the importance of Spider-Man’s presence in the MCU. “Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold,” he added
The news is good news for all MCU fans. As we all know, it was reported in August that Spider-Man had left the MCU after SOny and Disney failed to reach an agreement on the new contract for the new Spider-Man film.
Previously it was reported that Disney the profit from the future Spider-Man movie to be split equally for both sides, but Sony refused the proposal. The failure on both sides to reach an agreement made Disney retreat and kick Spider-Man out of the list of superheroes on the MCU.
The news of Spider-Man’s exit from the MCU made the main star of the movie, Tom Holland, disappointed. In D23 panel Holland bid his goodbye to the MCU fans, “It’s been a crazy week, and I love you all from the bottom of my heart, and I love you 3000,” he said mimicking the sentence Iron-Man in the Avenger: End Game.
Exiting the MCU is not the end for Spider-Man that’s played by Tom Holland. After Spider-Man’s exit from MCU, Sony was reported to be preparing for a new Spider-Man movie that will put Spider-Man that’s being played by Holland with Venom that’s being played by Tom Hardy together.
Although it sounds interesting, it seems like, with the new agreement between Sony and Disney, the appearance of Venom on Spider-Man movies is canceled. Or…... will Disney bring Venom to the MCU with the new contract?
