The Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) 2025 Esports World Cup will kick off next week, specifically in the second week of EWC 2025. The Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) 2025 will be the second Honor of Kings (HOK) competition in the Esports World Cup.
Previously, in 2024, during the initial launch of the Esports World Cup, Honor of Kings (HOK) launched the Honor of Kings (HOK) Midseason Invitational 2024 as HOK's first step following its global launch in 2024. Now, KWC 2025 will take the Honor of Kings (HOK) competitive scene to the next level with the Esports World Cup.
Featuring a total of 18 top Honor of Kings (HOK) teams from various regions, the KWC 2025 Esports World Cup will offer a trophy and a total cash prize of US$3,000,000. Eighteen of the best Honor of Kings (HOK) teams were selected from various renowned regional leagues and special qualifying pathways in specific regions.
One of the regions participating in this competition is Indonesia, with three teams competing in the Indonesia Kings Laga (IKL) Spring 2025: KAGENDRA, Team Vitality (Bigetron by Vitality), and Dominator Esports. The KWC 2025 Esports World Cup marks the second stage for KAGENDRA, one of Indonesia's leading HOK teams.
In the Group Stage, KAGENDRA at KWC 2025 will compete against several top teams, including NOVA Esports, the champions of the Malaysia Kings League (MKL) Spring 2025, Black Shrew Esports, the runners-up of the Malaysia Kings League (MKL) Spring 2025, and Twisted Minds, the champions of KMW Spring 2025.
Competing against these top teams puts KAGENDRA in the "Group of Death" of the competition. However, in an exclusive interview with Dunia Games (DG), two KAGENDRA players, Senko and iHanss, had their own opinions on this matter.
What are Senko and iHanss' reactions and views regarding KAGENDRA's position at KWC 2025? Read on.
KAGENDRA at KWC 2025 Esports World Cup Ready to Compete, Senko and iHanss Optimistic!
Dunia Games (DG) exclusively interviewed two KAGENDRA players, Senko and iHanss, regarding KAGENDRA's position in KWC 2025, which is considered the "Group of Hell." Is this true? Or do the players have different perspectives on this?
First, if they had to choose who they would like to face in the KWC 2025 Esports World Cup, it turns out that Senko and iHanss have different views. As a Clash Lane player, iHanss prefers teams with a combative gameplay style, such as teams from the Philippines or PKL.
"The teams I want to face, personally, outside of China, I would like to face teams from the Philippines, BOOM, or Blacklist. Because their gameplay is warlike, so I want to experience the 'let's fight, don't think about it,'" iHanss told Dunia Games exclusively.
Meanwhile, Senko stated that he would like to face teams from Brazil. This is because he believes that currently, Indonesian teams are already above Brazilian teams, and Senko also wants to face the South Korean team, Nongshim Redforce, the runner-up of the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 3 (KIS S3).
"Honestly, I want to face a Brazilian team. From my perspective, we're actually superior in the Brazilian region. I think we're already above Brazil. I was curious to face a Brazilian team, but instead, I met a Malaysian team. Secondly, I want to face the KIS S3 runner-up, Nongshim Redforce. I'm curious to see how strong they can be to hold off NOVA until the Ultimate Battle," Senko added.
Speaking about the characteristics or skill level of each team, especially in Group C at KWC 2025, the KAGENDRA players stated that there aren't any specific differences. According to iHanss, KAGENDRA's playing characteristics aren't that different from MKL teams like NOVA and BSE.
"It's not that different from the MKL team because the MKL team itself is certainly the benchmark for other regions, especially Indonesia. However, we might have added a little more combat, which I think is different from the PKL (teams). From what I've seen, the Philippine teams prefer to fight," explained iHanss.
"From my perspective, during our time playing HOK, especially in tournaments, we haven't been much different from the European and SEA teams. In my opinion, there's not much difference. The only difference is the PKL (teams). I've seen PKL teams fight more often, and they play more mechanically. But overall, the IKL, MKL, KME, and KMW (teams) are similar," explained Senko.
"Because before the tournament, we'll definitely scrim with teams from that region, so they'll have more or less the same characteristics," he concluded.
It can be concluded that the KAGENDRA group at KWC 2025 isn't actually a "Group of Hell" with special sentiments. KAGENDRA's players, Senko, and iHanss, are optimistic that they can compete in Group C alongside NOVA Esports, Black Shrew Esports, and Twisted Minds.
