Kirito is one of the top players in SAO who can clear an entire boss stage by himself.

2. Hirotaka (Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii)

The romance anime has a male protagonist who can make any fans jealous. Hirotaka is a caring young man who’s also an otaku. Hirotaka promises to help Narumi farm the rare drops in Monster Hunter. This shows Hirotaka’s expertise in video games. Especially since Hirotaka has already reached a really high level in his favorite game and is always able to carry his team.

3. Katsuragi Keima (The World God Only Knows)

When it comes to anime characters who are good at playing video games, Katsuragi Keima deserves a mention. He's one of the most dedicated anime characters of all time when it comes to gaming. He even has a large collection of popular games, ranging from FPS games, and strategies, to dating sims. Keima is arguably one of the biggest video game fans in the anime world. He also spends a lot of his spare time playing video games. If he's a real person, he could easily become a pro esports player.

4. King (One-Punch Man)

Not only being ranked 6th in the S-Class but King is also considered one of the most powerful heroes in the One-Punch Man universe. He undoubtedly has a talent for playing video games. King proves that he's the best gamer in the Blizzard Group, being able to beat Saitama on numerous occasions.

Despite the fact that King can be a coward and a con artist who often found himself in the right place when it was Saitama who should get credit for defeating the monsters, King is exceptionally great at playing games.

5. Ye Xiu (King of Avatar)

The main character of the popular esports-themed anime, King of Avatar, is undoubtedly an exceptional gamer. The fact that he is the best Glory player, a popular MMORPG in the anime, helped him become a pro player.

However, since the team management deemed that Ye Xiu had reached his peak and wouldn't be able to get any bigger, the management terminated his contract. Eventually, the former captain of the Excellent Era esports team decided to work at an internet cafe called Happy. Unable to give up his passion yet, Ye Xiu proves his skills as a pro player by starting over from scratch to climb back up to reclaim his spot at the top.

6. Sora & Shiro (No Game No Life) 

The siblings from the anime series, No Game No Life, are a dominating force in any video game they play. They even managed to conquer a record of 280 MMORPGs. Sora and Shiro are the most legendary figures in the game world in the anime series. Not only that, but their gaming setup is extraordinary, they use six screens at once. Now that's a legit pro gamer!

The seemingly-lazy character is actually a hero in terms of a video game. He's completely dominant in a mecha game called Kill-Ballad. His gaming abilities save Tokyo from a robot invasion. Other players in the online game find it almost impossible to defeat Satoru.

9. Konata Izumi (Lucky Star)

This petite, adorable otaku is very good at applying her experience in playing games to the real world. Konata is famous as a gamer who excels in any genre. In a way, she's the type of gamer who is lazy and tends to get too relaxed. But she's much smarter than most people realize. As a gamer, Izumi has several favorite game genres, namely RPGs, visual novels, and adult video games due to her father's influence.

10. Umaru Doma (Himotou! Umaru-Chan)

On the surface, Umaru Doma is a kind, polite, athletic, and practically perfect student. But not many people are aware of her personal life as a gamer. In fact, she's the top gamer in all of Japan in the anime. Even local arcades fear Umaru's ability as she can easily win tons of prizes and bankrupt them.

Umaru can balance her personal and school life. To the extent that you will not recognize her physique and personality are very different when she's inside and outside the house. Even her brother Taihei mentioned that Umaru is a two-faced person. With her two contrasting lives, she manages to cover it up and still maintain her image outside the house.

11. Karen Tendo (Gamers!)

This slice-of-life anime tells the story of a group of students who are members of a Gaming Club at their school, focusing on the lives of its members, video games, and the dramas in their teenage lives. One of the characters that stand out from the rest is Karen Tendo, the star of the school and the head of the Gaming Club. Besides always getting the highest score in all subjects, she is also the best gamer in her school.

12. Kei Shirogane (Log Horizon)

This character, also known as Shiroe, is a veteran player in the game, Elder Tale. He has been playing the game for 8 years from he was in junior high school until now, trying to get a master's degree in engineering at the age of 23. But one day, he finds himself trapped in the game alongside thousands of other players. Not only good at playing video 

games, but he is also a brilliant strategist. He even used his knowledge to repair Akiba City in the game after the chaos. He spends a lot of time researching the game world while trying to find the most efficient way to live in the game.

13. Subaru Natsuki (Re Zero)

Subaru Natsuki is a former gamer. He had played many video games before the first episode of Re: Zero, in which he gets reincarnated into another world. You can see his gaming prowess when he uses a lot of game references and analogies throughout the anime. He continues to amaze Emilia and the other characters with the things he says.

14. Yoshiharu Sagara (The Ambition Of Oda Nobuna)

Yoshiharu Sagara is another character who gets teleported into an isekai world. He is a former gamer who finds himself in a completely different world. Just like Subaru Natsuki, he uses his gaming skills and knowledge to navigate the Sengoku period of Japan, the era in which he finds himself. This character's knowledge of the gaming world is incomparable.

15. Squid Girl (Shinryaku! Ika Musume)

The cute character Squid Girl is known as someone who likes to play games with Eiko and Chizuru. Given her childish personality, it's no wonder why she enjoys playing games so much. Even if it's just a simple 2D game like Tetris or an FPS game like Call of Duty.
