1. Eren Yeager - Attack on Titan

The main character in Hajime Isayama’s series is one of the strongest candidates for the role of a villain. If you follow the story in each season of Attack on Titan, the first three seasons are all about fighting the Titans and protecting the walls. In the 4th season, Eren turns into a villain. It all starts with him killing innocents in Eldia. So, it’s not surprising that some fans speculate that Eren is actually the main villain of the series.

2. Yuuji Itadori - Jujutsu Kaisen

Yuuji might look like an innocent and kind-hearted character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. However, since Yuuji has the soul of one of the most dangerous demons, Ryoumen Sukuna, Yuuji can turn into a villain. The only reason that Yuuji is not considered a villain is because of his personality, and deep in his heart, he admits that his character flaws cannot be ignored. But because of the demon that resides in his body, we never know how far Yuuji will explore Sukuna's power.

3. Asta - Black Clover

Before the series introduced Nacht, Asta was the only character in Black Clover who used demonic powers. He also uses this power to become stronger to compete with Yuno. Since Asta uses demonic powers, the Magic Knights should see Asta as a villain rather than an ally. However, Asta remains a hero and fights alongside the other Magic Knights of the Black Bull squad in this series.

4. Goku - Dragon Ball

One of the most popular main characters of all time, Goku can actually be considered a villain. Especially in the original Dragon Ball series, it was Goku who actually killed Gohan's grandfather. Goku also constantly puts his world and other worlds at stake due to his obsession with fighting. Thus, Goku can actually be one of the biggest villains.

5. Thorfinn - Vinland Saga

With the dark, gloomy world pictured in this anime, this series is the perfect place for villainous characters. As a matter of fact, the setting of this series makes Thorfinn a main character who is much more evil compared to other protagonists in shounen or seinen anime due to his desire for revenge. Throughout the series, he refuses to take responsibility for his actions, instead dedicating his life to violence. He even ignored his friends' and father's advice.
