2. Jill Valentine

Jill Valentine is the first playable female main character. Jill is the main heroine in the Resident Evil franchise despite Chris being the most iconic male character. The two of them began investigating the Umbrella Corp together.

Jill's fate took a turn for the worse after she was kidnapped and brainwashed by Wesker in Resident Evil 5, and she still manages to do her job very well.

3. Claire Redfield

Claire Redfield's story in Resident Evil 2 is one that makes players feel sympathetic. She returns to her hometown of Raccoon City, hoping to find her older brother, Chris. Along the way, she meets a rookie cop, Leon, and gets involved in a living nightmare. All she wants to do is to find her brother.

She continues her journey in Code Veronica, in which Claire and Chris finally reunite after years apart. Claire also returned in Revelations 2, which is the last version that features her aside from the remake.

4. Rebecca Chambers

Rebecca Chambers can also be deemed as one of the heroines in this series. She later becomes Chris' partner after he found her in the mansion in the first game. Rebecca goes to investigate the area first and goes on her own little adventure before appearing at the Spencer Mansion.

Her story continues in Resident Evil 0, which is a prequel that leads directly to the first game. She has a cool head and great knowledge of medicine, making her a very important member.

5. Lady Dimitrescu

Lady Dimitrescu is a very well-known character on the internet even before the official release of Resident Evil 8. This character is so popular among fans and gamers, and even to those who haven't played Resident Evil, that Capcom eventually make her a playable character in the upcoming DLC.

She is a vampire with long, sharp nails. Despite her first appearance being quite iconic, Lady Dimitrescu has a relatively small role in the game.

6. Sherry Birkin

Sherry Birkin made her debut in Resident Evil 2 as a little girl. She is the daughter of an Umbrella scientist, William Birkin, who lost his mind and turned into a terrible monster.

Sherry never appeared again until she returned in Resident Evil 6 as a playable character. She befriends Jake Muller, who turns out to be Wesker's son. It's great to see Sherry back in one of the game's best campaigns.

Over the years, Sherry has trained hard to be an agent and it is great to see her develop.

7. Sheva Alomar

Sheva Alomar is Chris' partner in Resident Evil 5. Granted, she is not as popular as other heroines like Jill Valentine or Ada Wong, but Sheva is also an iconic character in Resident Evil 5.

She became a worthy partner for Chris even though Sheva and Chris did not have memorable moments together.

8. Marguerite Baker

Marguerite Baker is one of the villains in Resident Evil 7. She is the mother of the Baker family, trying to provide food and love in her own way for her family.

Every member of the Baker family is terrifying, yet Marguerite is somehow more horrifying as beneath her old motherly figure appearance, she's actually a hideous monster.

The fight against her is one of the scariest in the game in which she transforms into a spider-like creature.
