VALORANT New Agent Fade: Strengths and Weaknesses
Here are the pros and cons of Fade, the new VALORANT Agent who terrorizes her opponents.
Games | 02 May
In patch 4.08, VALORANT released a new Agent named Fade who terrorizes her targets. In my opinion, Fade is a highly powerful Agent whose abilities make her stand out from the rest. Although she’s powerful, Fade also comes with some weaknesses.
On this occasion, Dunia Games would like to discuss Fade’s strengths and weaknesses in VALORANT. Without further ado, let’s get into it.
Strengths
Great Scouting Abilities for Intel Gathering
Some VALORANT Agents like Skye and Sova can gather intel to find out about the opponents’ whereabouts. However, Fade is actually superior to those two Agents.
Fade’s Haunt allows her to reveal the targets' locations, and make them leave trails, which can be used later on by Fade. Therefore, the targets that have been spotted by Fade won’t be able to escape from her that easily.
Aside from that, Fade can also send Prowler to find opponent’s positions — it can be used to track opponents’ tracks and inflict them the nearsighted effect if hit by Prowler.
Fade’s abilities in gathering info don’t stop there. She also has an Ultimate that can be used to reveal opponents’ tracks, especially with the area that this ability covers.
Opponents who tend to camp out in corners or Agents who hide in smoke like Viper won’t feel safe with Fade on the opposing team as she can find out their whereabouts easily.
Can Deafen Her Opponents for a Moment
One of the effects of Fade’s abilities is that she can deafen her targets for a while using Seize or Nightfall. This effect will cause the opponents to lose hearing.
While it sounds trivial, being deafened can be so crippling as you can gather info using voices like steps or gunshot sounds.
Fade’s Decay Instantly Takes Up HP
Unlike Viper’s decay, which gradually reduces HP, the decay from Fade can easily make your targets lose lots of HP. It’s actually possible for to you finish them after that with one shot on their torso or leg
Can Bind Targets Using Her Seize
Aside from the decay, deafened, and nearsight effects, Fade can also bind her targets using Seize to keep them in the area for a while.
This makes mobility Agents like Jett, Raze, even Reyna cannot escape from Fade even if they use Tailwind, Blast Pack, or Dismiss. But Agents who teleport like Omen, Yoru, and Chamber can still escape from her Seize.
Aside from locking the target’s movements, Seize can also be combined with Paint Shell, Snake Bite, and Orbital Strike.

Weaknesses
Her Recon Skill Has a Very Limited Range
Fade’s Recon Skill, Haunt, is indeed highly useful because, aside from revealing their positions, Haunt also makes them leave trails that Fade can follow later on.
However, Haunt has a limited range — the projectiles will immediately go down after it reaches a certain range. This makes Fade less effective on bigger maps like Breeze.
Some Agents Won’t be Affected by Fade’s Skill
Granted, Fade can gather info really well to find out about the opponents’ locations and track their trails. Yet there are some Agents who cannot be tracked by Fade (Omen, Chamber, and Yoru).
If any of these three teleports, their tracks will also fade away after that
They can even escape from Seize’s bind effect — making Fade less effective against them. But with the decay, deafen, and nearsighted effects, it’s still possible for Fade to deal with these Agents.
Her Abilities Can be Ruined So Easily
Fade can gather intel easily using her Prowler and Haunt, but both of these skills can be disrupted rather easily as their projectiles move slowly with low HP. Prowler and Haunt can be disrupted with just a couple of shots.
Will Fade Become an OP Agent?
For the time being, I can say that Fade is a powerful Agent as she can gather info so easily. On top of that, Fade can also harass her targets using her Nearsight, Deafen, to Decay effects.
Since there are so many effects that she can offer, Fade is now quite OP and needs to be nerfed as soon as possible.
