The strength of Cambodian MLBB teams has been revealed. Cambodia has emerged as one of the dark horse regions in the MLBB competitive scene.

They were initially underestimated, but they have developed rapidly and have shown promising signs over the past few seasons. Cambodia has now established its own MPL, which has grown increasingly competitive each season.

Although they haven’t become champions of international tournaments—still dominated by the Philippines, followed by Indonesia and Malaysia—Cambodia has become one of the regions with the most Filipino imports.

Many Filipino players have succeeded in Cambodia, aside from Indonesia. One possible reason is the lower pressure compared to the Indonesian scene. However, there’s more to it. The unique strength of Cambodian MLBB teams may actually help Indonesian teams grow as well.

In fact, Cambodia has been one of the regions that most consistently scrim with MPL ID teams.

Vyn, while speaking with Tazz and Branz, has shared his insights. According to him, the main strength of Cambodian MLBB teams has been their unpredictable META and their boldness in using unconventional heroes.

Cambodia’s strength has been their courage to experiment with META and apply it in official tournaments.

They haven’t been afraid to use healer META, pick off-meta heroes, and showcase them to the public.

Not all of their strategies have worked, but because they’ve dared to try, the teams facing them have had opportunities to adopt those ideas. Especially when these picks have appeared in MPL KH—where hero choices during scrims tend to be even more extreme.

Vyn and Tazz have confirmed this. They’ve said that Cambodian teams have always provided interesting scrim sessions.

“Usually, it’s Cambodia that comes up with weird META. Even if their playstyle is just average, you’ll still see those picks in streams. The heroes they pick feel like something you can copy. And they always want to fight. That’s why they’re such a good match for scrims with Indonesian teams. They’re also down to scrim at 10 in the morning,” said Vyn.

“They’re fearless, brave. Every time we face Cambodia, I’ve always been surprised by their movements—they’re insane, guys. Cambodia and Malaysia are a good match with Indonesia,” explained Tazz.
