MediaTek is shaking up the market again with its newest processor, Dimensity 9400, which is expected to be released in October. The latest leak from Digital Chat Station reveals the extraordinary GPU performance of this chip. The latest benchmarks show that the Dimensity 9400 GPU far outperforms its competitors.

In the GFX Aztec 1440P off-screen Vulkan benchmark test, which is often used to measure graphics performance on mobile devices, the Dimensity 9400 recorded a score of 134 fps. For comparison, the Apple A18 Pro on the iPhone 16 Pro only reaches 72 fps, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is at 95 fps.

This means that the Dimensity 9400 offers a performance increase of up to 86% compared to the Apple A18 Pro, and is 41% superior to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This performance is driven by the Mali-G925 Immortalis MC12 GPU, which is paired with an Arm Cortex-X925 CPU with a speed of 3.63GHz, making This chip is one of the most powerful on the market.

According to ARM, the Immortalis G925 is the most powerful and efficient GPU they have ever created. Compared to the previous generation, this GPU offers a 37% increase in graphics application performance, 52% in ray tracing for complex objects, and 34% in AI and machine learning performance. Additionally, this chip also has better energy efficiency, with 30% lower power consumption.

Even though the Apple A18 Pro is equipped with a 6-core GPU that provides a 20% improvement over its predecessor, its raw performance still lags far behind the Dimensity 9400.

With Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 also launching in October, competition in the mobile processor market is increasingly fierce. MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 has set a new standard, and we'll see how this chip stacks up when it's officially released.
