Kingdom Hearts game series creator Tetsuya Nomura talked about the latest Kingdom Hearts series in Young Jump magazine. In the interview, Nomura explained that Kingdom Hearts 4 will end the story of the series. In other words, the next series could be a new title that is not related to KH.

Nomura also added that for those who already know the ending of KH3, the purpose of KH4 is to reset the series. Kingdom Hearts 4 and the latest mobile game Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link were created to be a new beginning for the KH series. The goal is to attract new players who have not previously followed the Kingdom Hearts series.

Kingdom Hearts 4 was announced by Square Enix at the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary event held in Tokyo, Japan in 2022. Square Enix also released the first trailer for the game. Unfortunately, there is no clarity on which platform and when this game will be released.

The first trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4 shows Sora waking up in a city called Quadratum. This city is adapted from the Shibuya area in Tokyo. This trailer also shows how Sora meets a female character named Strelitzia. The highlight of this trailer is when Sora fights a giant monster in the middle of Quadratum city.
