The trend of event cancellations due to coronavirus (COVID-19) is yet to meet its end. The latest cancellation comes from Bandai Namco that announces if Soul Calibur World Tour 2020 and Tekken World Tour 2020 will postpone due to coronavirus.

In an official press conference on Monday (9/3), Bandai Namco willingly has to cancel two tournaments; Tekken World Tour 2020 on Norcal Regionals, San Jose, United States, and at The Mixup at Lyon, France, where the two will be held on April next month.

Bandai Namco also cancels the Soul Calibur World Tour 2020 at The Mixup as well as the Final Round at Atlanta, the United States, in which the two will occur soon.

Bandai Namco also promises that they will watch out for coronavirus spread in the future to consider whether to postpone or cancel more events in the string of Soul Calibur World Tour 2020 and Tekken World Tour 2020.

Surely this thing is unsettling for fighting game fans in Indonesia, remembering that Tekken World Tour 2020 will come to Indonesia during Indonesia Fighting Game Championship (IFGC) on July 5. But Bandai Namco’s decision to prevent the virus from spreading is worth appreciation.

In the Twitter account, Bandai Namco wrote “Health and safety of tournament competitors, staffs, and viewers are our main priority,”
