It was attended by Garena Indonesia Country Head Hans Saleh; the Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency Teuku Riefky Harsya; the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency Irene Umar; and all special staff and deputies from the Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenekraf RI).

Furthermore, young Indonesian artists were also in attendance, including Dheni Nugroho (Guru Batik), Muchlis Fachri (Muklay), Nurfadli Mursyid (TahiLalats), and Weird Genius (Eka Gustiwana, Reza "YB" Oktovian, Roy Leonard). Also in attendance were Garena Indonesia's Head of Business Development, Esports, and Community, Wijaya Nugroho, and Free Fire Game Producer, Christiandy Fransiscus.

In his remarks, Teuku Riefky Harsya, Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency, stated that the FFWS Global Finals 2025 Jakarta presents a strategic opportunity to introduce Indonesia's creative industry to the global stage. "This cross-sector collaboration also coincides with National Batik Day, which reaffirms batik's position as Indonesia's cultural heritage. By presenting batik motifs in the Free Fire game, we see how traditional culture can be adapted to a new medium that resonates with the digital generation," said Teuku Riefky Harsya, Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency.

Teuku Riefky Harsya further added that this cross-sector collaboration also proves that Indonesian culture can be present on the global stage at the FFWS Global Finals 2025 Jakarta, making Indonesia one of the largest esports competitions in the world. Indonesian culture is not only present as spectators, but also as part of the gaming experience.

"This initiative is also part of the series of events to welcome the Free Fire World Series Global Finals 2025 Jakarta, which will be held in Indonesia, one of the largest esports competitions in the world. Through this collaboration, Indonesian culture can be present on the global stage, not only as spectators, but also as part of the gaming experience," added Teuku Riefky Harsya, Minister of Economy/Head of the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency.

Representing Garena Indonesia, Hans Saleh emphasized that the choice of Jakarta as the host reflects global confidence in Indonesia's capacity in the esports realm. "The FFWS Global Finals 2025 Jakarta will be a source of pride for Indonesia, as well as a tangible manifestation of the synergy between esports, creativity, and the enthusiasm of the younger generation. We want to emphasize that the Indonesian esports ecosystem is inclusive, sustainable, and can have a positive impact on the digital creative industry," said Hans Saleh, Country Head of Garena Indonesia.

"By involving Indonesian creative talent, from music to batik, the world will see that Indonesia has a strong cultural identity and is capable of innovating in the modern digital realm. This cross-sector collaboration is what will strengthen the esports ecosystem by synergizing with other creative industries and creating added value for the community and the digital industry as a whole. Esports is a new medium for cultural diplomacy that can open new opportunities for creators, artists, and young creative talent, making the esports ecosystem even more dynamic and economically valuable," he explained.

Creative Young Artists Showcase Work at FFWS Global Finals 2025 Jakarta

As representatives of young Indonesian artists, the collaborators felt immense pride in participating in this global event. The artists involved shared their enthusiasm. Weird Genius stated, "Music is like the spice that makes esports more vibrant. Remixing Free Fire songs with a local feel will give global audiences an immersive experience and a sense of pride in Indonesian music."

Furthermore, Dheni Nugroho, Batik Guru, added, "Batik is not just a motif, but a story about Indonesia. This collaboration breathes new life into batik, encouraging the younger generation to see it as something cool and relevant in the modern world." Meanwhile, Muchlis Fachri, also known as Muklay, emphasized the immense potential for local artists through esports, stating, "The characters I created for Free Fire will be seen by millions." "This is an opportunity to express Indonesian creativity in a fun, authentic, and memorable way," he said. Nurfadli Mursyid, from Tahilalats, also highlighted this new medium, saying, "With short animations and comic feeds, esports is an effective way to reach an international audience. Absurd yet relatable humor makes people remember and feel close to our creativity."

The creativity of young artists across sectors in responding to the challenges of this collaboration is very diverse. While Weird Genius created the official background music for the FFWS Global Finals 2025 Jakarta using authentic Indonesian culture, Guru Batik is presenting free skins in Free Fire and is also giving away batik to all players and KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) both domestically and internationally.

Muklay is not only creating his own character for Free Fire; in this collaboration, his IP will also be used in FFWS ornaments, and his designs will be used as merchandise for the FFWS Global Finals 2025 Jakarta. Tahilalats will also enliven the FFWS Global Finals 2025 Jakarta through promotional content on the Tahilalats platform, packaged with elements of Indonesian humor and a storyline that can reach and entertain a global audience.

"What makes this collaboration special is its impact on the wider community. Esports opens up new opportunities for young Indonesians, not only as players or spectators, but also as creators, artists, and innovators." "By participating in an event as large as the FFWS Global Finals 2025 Jakarta, they can showcase their work, build networks, and even create new business opportunities. This is how the creative industry provides tangible benefits for future generations," said Irene Umar, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency.

By combining world-class esports competition and cross-sector creative collaboration, the FFWS Global Finals 2025 Jakarta is not just a tournament, but a celebration of Indonesian culture, creativity, and sportsmanship. It is a momentum that unites the global community through limitless innovation while strengthening Indonesia's position as a global center for the creative economy.

The FFWS Global Finals 2025 Jakarta will take place from October 31 to November 15, 2025, with the Grand Finals at the Indonesia Arena Sports Stadium. The FFWS Global Finals 2025 Jakarta will see the 18 best teams from various regions compete for the Free Fire world championship title, including Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America.
