Yu-Peng Chen is a music composer who is popular thanks to his work on HoYoverse's Genshin Impact. He announced on his Weibo account that he would be leaving HoYoverse and HOYO-MiX. Based on his post, Chen stated that he wanted to pursue his own musical dreams and goals. He also revealed that he plans to release his new original album next year.

Through this post, he also admitted that he made many happy memories while working at HoYoverse and seeing many other composer students at HOYO-MiX who reminded him of the support and assistance he had received so far. The student composers he refers to are those who composed the Fontaine area soundtrack because Chen did not work as a music composer for Fontaine despite his position as Composer at Genshin Impact. Chen has been a music composer since 2004, and his work on Genshin Impact has been widely praised by fans and critics.

Genshin Impact does offer an extraordinary soundtrack in the game, this soothing and moving melody is liked by many fans because it often accompanies them on all their adventures in Teyvat. Genshin Impact fans will definitely agree that the soundtrack by Yu-Peng Chen is one of the best things about the game.

Some rumors say that Chen actually left the company in August 2023, but he only announced and confirmed this on September 12, 2023. Yu-Peng Chen has worked as a music producer at HOYO-MiX from 2019 to 2023. Previously he worked as a musical accompanist on films such as The Founding of an Army, which even led him to win an award at the Golden Deer Award for the "Best Original Music Score" category in 2017.

Now, Yu-Peng Chen is no longer part of HoYoverse, and currently, he is planning to release an original instrumental album which he planned in 2024. You can still see his work in the game or through the Genshin Impact Concert which will start in October 2023.
