As people suspected, on Monday (20/7) Konami makes sure that eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2021, or also known as PES 2021, won’t be released “normally”. Instead of appearing as a standalone game, this game will appear as a “Season Update” that will be added to PES 2020.

Reporting from the official press release, Konami stated that PES 2021 Season Update will arrive on September 15 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Sadly, this update won’t appear free. Aside from players have to own PES 2020 beforehand, players also have to spend Rp240.000 for PES 2021 Season Update Standard Edition on Steam.

In addition to the Standard version, you can also purchase the Partner Club Editions for Rp280.000. This edition will represent each exclusive team that partnered with PES 2021 like Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United, Bayern Munchen, and Arsenal. In this edition, you will receive a special content like myClub squad, Iconic Moment series, kits, and exclusive team menu with the team you chose.

Konami explains that PES 2021 Season Update will introduce classy gameplay of PES 2020 with improvements on player transfer, player’s kit, exclusive clubs, and other content. Everything will be in one package at a cheaper price compared to a normal PES game.

Jonas Lygaard as the Senior Director Brand & Business Development at Konami Digital Entertainment stated: “As for now, we'll use a time to build the future foundation for PES series, it’s important for you to see our legacy behind and keep on improving all aspects in our game,”.

“PES 2021 will introduce high-quality gameplay with new season data, exclusive teams, and new content for our players. We want to be grateful for all players and communities’ dedication that keep on pushing your transition to the future of PES on the next generation of console,” he ended. 

Here are the features that will be added on PES 2021 Season Update later:

• Season Update: PES 2021’s main purpose is to give improvements on player’s data and clubs for PES 2020 players. Even though currently Europe’s Soccer League walks slowly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Konami makes sure that they will keep on giving the latest update on PES 2021 with a routine update. 
• The UEFA EURO 2020 Exclusive content: the UEFA EURO 2020 competition will appear on PES 2020 as an exclusive content due to the real match postponed until 2021, Konami will reintroduce this content on PES 2021 later.
• Iconic Moment series: Via Iconic Moment, you can re-enact historical moments across the field with every player, both for retired and active ones.
• Loyalty Discount: If you preorder PES 2021 Partner Club Editions on your PES 2020, you will receive a discount of 20%. This discount is also applicable if you preorder PES 2021 via PES 2020 Lite that you can get for free.
• Veteran Bonus: If you have played myClub on PES 2020, on PES 2021, you will receive various bonuses depends on your accomplishment in-game.
