The trailer of God of War Ragnarok was presented at the Playstation Showcase on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Both Kratos and Atreus return, as well as several other characters from the previous game. Other Norse mythical gods such as Tyr and Thor are set to appear in the game too.

Tells about Atreus' worries about Fimbulwinter leading to the prophesied Ragnarok. Even so, Atreus wants to explore the world and learn more about who he really is and also about Loki. Kratos warns Atreus about his curiosity leading to a war with Asgard and the gods themselves.

As reported by Gameinformer, God of War Ragnarok is set in a snowy environment like several previous areas in the prequel. In one scene in the trailer for God of War Ragnarok, Kratos and Atreus are shown a dog sled over a frozen lake, which seems to be a hub area that Kratos has previously explored.

Mimir, the travel companion of this father-daughter duo who is a talkative head, remains on Kratos' hips. Seeing Mimir return in God of War Ragnarok seems to make a lot of people happy. There’s also a new god of war from Norse mythology named Tyr.

The trailer for God of War Ragnarok also shows a brief overview of Thor with Mjolnir confronting Kratos and Atreus, asking if Kratos is a calm and reasonable person. There is also a mysterious young woman who appears briefly at the end of the trailer.

Various Kratos’ weapons are shown in several scenes in this trailer. Kratos' signature weapon, the Blade of Chaos, is re-used, and has a grappling hook mechanism that is useful for fighting and adventuring. Another of Kratos' powerful weapons returning is the highly versatile Leviathan shield and Ax from his previous adventures.

God of War Ragnarok will be released on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, but no release date has been announced in the trailer. If you have a PS5, you can also play God of War 2018 with the next gen patch.
