On the KULTUM (Kuliah Tunggu Maghrib) entitled “Youth and Sawm”, Dunia Games invited Habib Husein Ja’far who gave the audience knowledge regarding sawm activities during Ramadan and the law regarding playing games. There were a few questions asked for Habib Husein, and one of them was about the law regarding playing games.

Habib Husein stated that he was a gamer in his youth because he owned a classic Nintendo console. Then, when he asked about the law of playing games, Habib gave an interesting answer. “Basically, games are neither halal nor haram, it depends on how we are using it,” said Habib Husein.

According to him, if playing games are used for entertainment purposes to entertain us when we feel tired from school or work for some time, then it’s okay. He also said that games can become haram if we play until we forget to pray, eat, and do other activities like homework due to the excessive time playing games.
