These anime openings also serve as music videos, with some of them featuring snippets of the scenes from the actual anime. These openings make the anime more iconic and memorable for fans. Although there are actually some great anime openings, most of us choose to skip these intros as we are already eager to watch the episodes.

Some are the scenes that you can see as the story progresses, while some others feature big battles involving the main characters. However, each scene in the openings are actually an homage to popular movies such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Pulp Fiction, and Reservoir Dogs.
2. Shinzou Sasageyo by Linked Horizon (Attack on Titan)
This anime opening will make the viewers feel like they’re the heroes of humanity. As a matter of fact, “shinzou wo sasageyo” translates to “offer your heart” in English. This depicts how the Survey Corps dedicate their lives for the betterment of humankind. The music video shows how the Titans crush the world, yet the Survey Corps are there, ready to sacrifice their soul and body to fight them.

3. Gurenge by LiSA (Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer)
“Gurenge” – which translates to “red lotus” – is sung by RIsa Oribe, more commonly known by her stage name LiSA. The opening for Kimetsu no Yaiba depicts the beginning of Tanjiro Kamado’s struggles against the demons. You can also see how Tanjiro and his friends compete to be the best to defeat the demons. This song certainly makes the viewers eager to follow the story.
4. Backlight by Ado (One Piece Film: Red)
It’s the opening to the latest anime movie, One Piece Film: Red. This opening has since become one of the most impressive openings in the One Piece franchise. “Backlight” is performed by the main character Uta. However, the real voice behind the character is actually Ado. The music video also features Uta from One Piece, making it seem like an original song by Uta.
5. Zankyou Sanka By Aimer (Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc)
Although the scenes in the music video of the opening song “Zankyou Sanka” takes place during the night, the characters are basking in the lights of the Entertainment District. The lively scenes that feature fireworks make this opening more lively, with the main focus on the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui.
