1. One of the Roger Pirates’ Strongest Members

During Kozuki Oden’s flashback, it is seen that Scopper Gaban gives a command to all crews to attack alongside Rayleigh. We already know that Rayleigh is Roger’s right-hand man because he’s undoubtedly strong. Can stand and give the command at Rayleigh’s side gives that Scopper Gaban is also one of the strongest pirates in Roger Pirates.

2. Already Appears Since the Beginning of the Story

During the flashback about Buggy that tells his journey alongside Shanks and Roger Pirates, 

Scopper Gaban is already seen. At that time, probably we already suspect that he will be an integral character in the series. With black sunglasses and his long hair makes him recognizable easily.

3. One of the Monster Trio In the Roger Pirates

Many people suspect that he is the Straw Hat’s Sanji-equivalent in the Roger Pirates, but it doesn’t mean that he’s a master cook, but Gaban is a member of the Monster Trio, while the two being Roger and Rayleigh. This is can be seen from his name. There is “copper” in Scooper, then “silver” on Rayleigh’s name, and the “gold” in Roger’s. Those word games in their names are a dead giveaway of them being the strongest three in the group.

In the medals given to the champions in the Olympics, bronze/ copper is the third highest, silver is the second highest, while gold is given to the first victor. This means that Roger is the strongest, followed by Rayleigh and Gaban. We can conclude that Gaban’s strength is not too different than Rayleigh’s.

4. Uses Axes in Battle

Roger and Rayleigh use a weapon that is used by many pirates in general which is a sword, while Gaban wields two axes in battle. In Buggy’s flashback, Gaban has already seen fighting wielding axes. We can see his action when the Roger Pirates fighting against the Shirohige Pirates.

Probably some rare pirates fight using two hand axes like Gaban, moreover, if the axes coated with Busoshoku Haki. There’s a fat chance that Gaban coated his axes with Haki when under a serious fight.

5. His Current Whereabouts Are Unknown

When Roger descends from Oro Jackson, Gaban is still alive. He also once accompany Oden to Wano even though his current whereabouts are unknown. If Rayleigh is still alive, then there’s a chance that he’s still alive too. This is because Gaban is not easy being defeated. Probably he’s hiding while guarding Oro Jackson?

If the legendary ship Oro Jackson still exists, then the story will be more interesting. Probably we can see Luffy meeting Gaban and Oro Jackson someday, and the ex-member of the Roger Pirates will tell him his tale finding One Piece. Who knows?
