The Place Promised in Our Early Days is Makoto’s first anime film. This film sets after the war and Japan is submitted into two sides: the northside is ruled by Soviet Union and the southside is ruled by United States. 2. The Garden of Words (Kotonoha no Niwa)

Garden of Words tells about a problem or background from different age. Takao who is 15 years old and Yukari who is 27 years old. Takao doesn’t know why Yukari can skip her work and vice versa, moreover Takao doesn’t know her name at first.

On the side of the town, Hodaka meets a girl named Hina Amano. For some reason, Hina and his brother live together with a happy life. Hina also has mysterious power, a power to stop rain and enlighten the sky.
