Tekken 8 previously announced the return of Jun Kazama. Confirmed through their latest gameplay trailer, Tekken 8 continues to reveal the latest additions to its roster with the Ling Xiaoyu trailer. The character – who has been on the roster since Tekken 3 – got a two-minute trailer showing her new look and several new moves, including a new Rage Art that can send her opponent spinning when hit by her attack. You can watch the trailer here.
In the trailer, this acrobatic fighter is seen with her signature moves that relies on her flexibility and speed to outmaneuver her opponents from various angles. She also still relies on combos such as dances which allows her to switch from high to low stances, making her difficult to interrupt. Her trademark, Art of Phoenix, is also well represented in the trailer.
If you notice, Xiaoyu has a new Rage Art that begins with a double punch to the stomach followed by an arm bar along with the punches she delivers when her opponent is losing balance. Besides that, you can see her classic kung fu moves that use palm attacks that directly hit her opponent's solar plexus in the trailer.
Meanwhile, in terms of appearance, Ling Xiaoyu still has the two pigtails that have become her trademark looks. However, Xiaoyu has a new look to her outfit which makes her look even more adorable with the feather details on her dress and the wings on her feet. However, Panda – Xiaoyu's bodyguard – has not been confirmed for Tekken 8, considering that this animal character is not in the trailer.
To this day, Tekken 8 already has ten characters including Ling Xiaoyu, with the previously announced characters being Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, King, Lars Alexandersson, Paul Phoenix, Law Marshall, Nina Williams, as well as Jin Kazama’s mother, Jun Kazama who recently announced as a playable character. Tekken 8 is yet to get a release date, but lots of people believe that the game will be officially released before March 2024. Let’s wait for the next updates on Tekken 8.
