Gamamaru is the oldest toad from Myoboku Mountain. He is very old and his experience is life made the resident of the village worship him and the shinobi learn his teachings. One of his abilities that made him so respected is the accuracy of his divination.

What are the divinations made by Gamamaru about the future of the shinobi world? Let’s take a look at the six prophecies made by Gamamaru.

6. Prophecy about Kaguya Otsutsuki 

Thousands of years ago when Kaguya Otsutsuki enslaved the land, Gamamaru saw how Kaguya used the God Tree enslaved the people using the Infinite Tsukuyomi and transformed them into White Zetsu. He then told Kaguya’s twins, Hagoromo and Hamura, to seek out the truth about their mother.

Kagura’s action to absorb natural energy may cause the destruction of the world. Hagoromo and Hamura asked Gamamura to teach them to defeat their mother; who transformed in the Ten-Tails Beast after she realized her twins’ plan.

5. Prophecy About the Tailed Beast Unification

After Hagoromo sealed the Ten-Tails Beast and split the chakra into nine Tailed Beasts, Hagoromo told the Beasts that one day they are going to be united again thanks to a “mischievous blue-eyed boy” that will change the world.

Centuries later, a young shinobi named Naruto Uzumaki was born and united all the nine Tailed Beasts in his body and found out the Beasts’ real name to save the world from Infinite Tsukuyomi and Kagura Otsutsuki.

4. Prophecy About Jiraiya

One time, when Gamamaru was older and the time of Hagoromo was long past, a shinobi named Jiraiya was training in Myoboku mountain to learn the Sage Mode. The toad was now called the Great Sage Toad made a prophecy about Jiraiya saying that he would become a “talented ninja” and “a pervert without equal”, he would walk across the world as a sage "observing all creation, watching as nature takes its course" and write a book. 

When Jiraiya was old, Jiraiya was known as a great Sannin and Perverted Hermit. During his adventure as a legendary Sannin, he also wrote multiple books; the erotic novel titled Icha Icha and The Tale of The Utterly Gutsy Shinobi.

3. Prophecy about Naruto

When Naruto went to the Myoboku Mountain to learn senjutsu, Gamamaru made a prophecy about him saying that he would meet "creature with octopus tentacles" which was Killer Bee and Gyuki, and that he would battle "young man with powerful eyes" referring to Obito and Sasuke.

Gamamaru then told Gerotora, the frog who holds the key to the seal of the Nine-Tailed Beast, to give Naruto the key because he knows that it will happen in the future.

2. Prophecy About the Limited Tsukuyomi

Gamamaru appears briefly when a prophecy about the masked man's defeat is made.

Gamamaru’s divination is accurate not just in the real world, but also in the imaginary world. When Naruto and Sakura were trapped in the Limited Tsukuyomi in Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie, Gamamaru made a prophecy about the defeat of a masked man, Menma Uzumaki, in the hands of Naruto.

1. Prophecy About Jiraiya’s Pupil and the Future

Gamamaru made a prophecy that a pupil of Jiraiya will bring a major change to the world, and depending on the actions of Jiraiya, the ‘Children of the Prophecy’ could bring the world to destroy or save the world.

During the Second Shinobi War, Jiraiya believed that a child named Nagato who owned Rinnegan is the ‘Children of the Prophecy’ and save the world so he decided to train Nagato and his friends.

Jiraiya also taught a talented pupil from his Genin team, Minato Namikaze. Because of his ability, Jiraiya once believed that Minato is the ‘Children of the Prophecy’. On the other side, when the Nine-Tailed Beast and Obito attacked Konohagakure, Minato believed that Obito will destroy the world while his son is going to be the savior.

Years after the event, when Jiraiya realized that Nagato is the leader of Akatsuki, Jiraiya tried to stop him so the prophecy about the world’s destruction will fail. But when his plan to stop Nagato failed, Jiraiya realized that Naruto is the children mentioned in the prophecy so he told Naruto how to defeat Nagato.

Gamamaru who watched the battle between Naruto and Nagato realized that Naruto and Nagato are the ‘Children of the Prophecy’ because the wanted to bring peace to the world. 

Toward the end of the Fourth Shinobu War, the tailed beast who was captured by Obito remembered what Hagoromo said and believed that Naruto is the mischievous blue-eyed boy that will unite the Tailed Beasts and save the world.
