Naoki Yamakawa and Masashi Asaki's My Home Hero manga will inspire the creation of a live action series as well as a movie. The series will premiere on MBS and TBS's "Dramaism" block on October 24th 2023, while the movie will be released in Japan in spring 2024. MBS has released a trailer as well as an announcement of the cast for the project.

The cast for the live action My Home Hero includes:

• Tae Kimura as Kasen Tosu
• Eisaku Yoshida as Yoshitatsu Matori

• Shuichiro Naito as Nobuto Matori

The director for the My Home Hero live action project will be Takahiro Aoyama. Masashi Asaki, the manga illustrator, also drew a commemorative illustration for the My Home Hero live action event.

The manga recently underwent a one-month hiatus so creators can "recharge" before starting the manga's climax. It is scheduled that this manga will return in the 40th issue of Weekly Young Magazine which will be published on September 4th 2023.

Yamakawa and Asaki launched the manga in Weekly Young Magazine in May 2017. The manga's 21st volume shipped on June 6th. The manga took a break after ending its second part in October 2021, and then continued its story with its third and final chapter in June 2022. The final chapter will pick up seven years after the second.

Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed the manga, and began publishing it digitally on February 28th 2023.

This manga tells the story of an office worker who has a reliable wife and a daughter who is a student who sometimes acts a little rebellious, but still has a happy life in her own way. However, one day he learns that his daughter has been harmed, and from there begins his adventure into a dangerous world to protect his family.

The manga's anime adaptation premiered on April 2nd on Tokyo MX and BS TV. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime at the same time as each premiere and also releasing the English dub on April 16th 2023.

Another work by Yamakawa and Akinari Nao, the manga I'm Standing on a Million Lives, also inspired an anime series adaptation that premiered in October 2020. The second season of the anime premiered in July 2021. Kodansha USA published the manga in English.

Asaki also drew the artwork for Yuma Ando's "Psychometrer" and "Psychometrer Eiji" manga, as well as drew the IWGP: Denshi no Hoshi manga for the Ikebukuro West Gate Park franchise.
