FINE Entertainment and Sony Pictures Entertainment revealed on Thursday, February 3, 2022 about the previously announced film adaptation of The Violence Action manga. The Violence Action is created by Shin Sawada and Renji Asai and the live-action adaptation will be released in summer 2022.

According to Comic Natalie, Kanna Hashimoto will play the main protagonist named Kei Kikuno. Toichiro Ruto is directing the film, as well as co-writing the script with Itaru Era.

The story of The Violence Action centers on Kei Kikuno, an assassin who looks like an ordinary adorable girl. Kei can skillfully carry out her duties using weapons and her physical prowess.

The Violence Action series was serialized in Shogakukan's online magazine Yawaraka Spirits in April 2016. The manga was on hiatus from March 2018 to June 2019 due to the creator's deteriorating health. The series is included in the list of the top 20 manga for male readers in Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2018 edition of Takarajimasha.

Renji Asai previously worked on the manga adaptation of Mamoru Hosoda's The Boy and The Beast, and Yen Press is releasing the series in English in North America. Daisuke Muroi is Shin Sawada's real name, and he worked on the manga Reiri with writer Hitoshi Iwaaki (Historie, Parasyte) from December 2015 to December 2018.
