If you have watched Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 then you have heard the word Celestial right? Yes, Celestial is a race in which Star Lord or Peter Quil’s Father, Ego, came from. Taneleer Tivan, The Collector shows imagery of the Celestial when he told the origin of the Orb which turns out to be the Power Stone, one of the Infinity Stone. Normally the Celestial is giant-sized, wears armor, has powers, and called as Space Gods.

The who is the Celestial? The Celestial is an alien race called Space Gods because they are responsible for the evolution of many civilizations in the universe. They are also a cosmic entity that plays a big role in Marvel comics. In the comics, the Celestials have visited the Earth once every couple of thousand years. It was recorded that the Celestials have visited the Earth four times and experimented on humans. They are the ones responsible for the existence of other human races such as Eternals, Deviants, and Mutants.

Even if they are called ‘gods’, the Celestials are not immortal, in the Avenger#30 comic, which was released in 2013 told a story of the Beyonders killing all the existing Celestials, and followed by the death of other Abstract Cosmic Creature and also Living Tribunal. Exitar is the Celestials tasked to destroy a planet when it doesn’t meet the expectation of other Celestials.

9. Arishem The Judge

Arishem decide if a planet should keep on living or destroyed.

8. Nezarr The Calculators

Nezarr is an expert of counting and can project illusions. Nezarr can count the population of a planet quickly.

7. Eson The Searcher

A Celestial that works to look for species in the universe to give to Gammenon

6. Gammenon The Gatherer

After receiving information about a species from Eson, Gammenon will gather that species using a stick like a herdsman. 

5. Gamiel The Manipulator

Gamiel is the youngest Celestial that also competes with its sibling Devron to prove his theory is correct. His job is to watch a planet that has been appointed as a target, one of them is Earth.

4. Devron The Experiment

Devron also is similar to Gamiel. This Celestials job is to watch over a targeted planet. But oftentimes both of them clash to prove which one has the right theory.

3. Gatherer of The Monoliths

This Celestial doesn’t have a name, but this Celestial often came to Earth to collect a black recording device called the Monolith.

2. Blue Celestial

Blue Celestial is a Celestial Born from the remnant of the planet destroyed by Ego, The Living Planet. Its job is to destroy which Thor find it troublesome in comic The Mighty Thor #423 - The Day of Their Return.

1. One Above All

The leader of the Celestials and also the strongest. But One Above All is not the same as THE one One Above All, which depict God in Marvel comics
