The anime adaptation of Yuki Sato's Tomodachi Game (Friends Games) manga gets a new live-action series titled Tomodachi Game R4 which will premiere on TV Asahi on July 23, 2022. Having a story about the Money Game, Tomodachi Game is considered to be similar to the Squid Game, one of which is a famous South Korean Netflix series.

Tomodachi Game R4's cast will include members from boyband Johnny's Jr. Bishо̄nen and HiHi Jets. The cast includes:

1. Hidaka Ukisho (Bishо̄nen) as Yuichi Katagiri
2. Ryuga Sato (Bishо̄nen) as Tenji Mikasa
3. Mizuki Inoue (HiHi Jets) as Makoto Shibe
4. Fujii Naoki (Bishо̄nen) as Kei Shinomiya
5. Taisho Iwasaki (Bishо̄nen) as Juzo Kadokura
6. Soya Igari (HiHi Jets) as Hyakutaro Onigawara
7. Issei Kanasashi (Bishо̄nen) as Chisato Hashiratani
8. Yuto Nasu (Bishо̄nen) as Banri Niwa

Takurо Oikawa, Hajime Takezono (TV Asahi), and Toshiaki Kamada are directing the series. Takuji Higuchi and Shinya Hokimoto are writing the screenplay. Yoshinori Nakamura composed the music. Mikoto Yamaguchi and Sato are credited for the creators of the original work.

The Tomodachi Game anime adaptation premiered on NTV on April 6, 2022. Crunchyroll and Disney Plus are streaming the anime series as well.

Yuki Sato (Sherlock Bones, Yokai Doctor) launched the manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shounen Magazine in December 2013. The manga went on hiatus in December 2019, resumed for a chapter in February 2020, and then went on hiatus again. The manga entered its final arc in August 2020.

The manga has inspired previous live-action drama series and two live-action films. His first film, Tomodachi Game Gekijouban, was released in June 2017 after the live-action drama series premiered in April 2017. The second film premiered in Japan in September 2017.
