Moonton Cares has again provided scholarships and collaborated with two universities in Jakarta, namely the Perbanas Institute and Seventeen August University.

It is undeniable that the development of esports in Indonesia is very fast and experiencing significant changes. This has made the existence and potential of this industry even bigger and much discussed, especially by the millennial generation.

Esports talents who have been proven to be able to make the name of the Indonesian people come from the younger generation who are the next generation who are still in school and lectures. This is what makes esports so closely attached to the education industry.

From this, Moonton Games through the Moonton Cares program "Membina Sang Legenda" was moved to provide scholarships to students at the Perbanas Institute and Seventeen August University to encourage the quality of education in Indonesia and provide opportunities for young people to have careers in the esports scene.

"The selected students have gone through several stages for four months starting from registration, interviews, to the announcement of scholarship acceptance. We are very motivated to support the educational needs needed for students in Indonesia so that they can excel academically and become productive contributors to society through games and esports," said Azwin Nugraha, Marketing & Communications Manager for Moonton Indonesia at a press conference on the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Moonton Indonesia and Perbanas Institute and the Seventeenth University of August 1945 (UTA45).

The Executive Board of Esports Indonesia welcomes Moonton Indonesia's positive steps through MDL ID.

"PB ESI gives its highest appreciation to the entire esports ecosystem and the world of education who have a high commitment and are very serious in supporting the strengthening of the competence of Indonesian esports players which are actually part of efforts to prepare future Indonesian digital talents who are expected to contribute actively in realizing the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045. PB ESI hopes to collaborate with the world of education as has been done by PB ESI with the Garudaku Academy with leading universities in Indonesia since last year's National Student Esports League, as well as the synergy between Moonton and the Perbanas Institute which was inaugurated today. This can be an inspiration to build similar collaborations to increase the intellect and intelligence of esports players, both for their current interests and when they retire. Education is a very valuable provision and must be a major consideration for the entire Indonesian esports ecosystem," said Ashadi Ang, Head of PB ESI's Public Relations and Communications Division.

Meanwhile, Perbanas Institute Chancellor Prof. Dr. Hermanto Siregar said that in the future Perbanas will open scholarship opportunities for esports athletes who have national and international achievements.

"We really appreciate the initiative from Moonton Indonesia through Moonton Cares which continues to carry out sustainable programs in opening opportunities in the world of esports and its concern for the education of the nation's children. In addition to preparing highly competitive human resources, Perbanas Institute also trains champion motivation because it can provide positive energy in various circumstances. We hope that this collaboration will not stop here and will continue in the future," said Prof. Hermanto.

Students who take part in this scholarship program are also subject to a number of requirements such as majors relevant to the esports or game industry such as graphic design, business, marketing, game development, information technology; have a minimum GPA of 3.2 in the final semester, are active in organizational activities both on and off campus, and have academic achievements.

"We hope to continue to be consistent in supporting the esports ecosystem in Indonesia and also to be consistent in contributing to the continuity of education. In the future, we will also open a mentorship program for selected students so that it does not limit esports to being an athlete. There are many job opportunities such as graphic design , community manager, public relations, business development, event officer, marketing and many more," added Azwin.

On the same occasion, Chancellor of UTA 45 J. Rajesh Khana revealed that his campus is ready to support the synergy of esports and the education industry.

"UTA45 is transforming into Digital Technology. Esports is part of the transformation carried out to introduce all students to the importance of developing and competing through esport. Student activity units will be formed specifically for esport to be carried out by all students," said Rajesh.

Previously, Moonton Games collaborated with Garudaku Academy to try to reduce the digital access gap in rural areas, to enable more people to enjoy convenience and information with the digital economy, and to open opportunities for young esports athletes through the Moonton Cares program.

There are hundreds of students from seven schools in East Java who are facilitated by the esports academy coaching program which includes various programs to equip students who have an interest in getting into the esports industry. The initial step taken was to provide donations to schools in East Java.

Since 2018, Moonton Games has produced hundreds of esports athletes who have competed at the professional level in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Indonesia (MPL) and also Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Development League Indonesia (MDL).

Hundreds of professional esports players are not only the backbone of the family, they also carry the name of the team and Indonesia on the world stage. For the record, Indonesia has brought home a silver medal at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines and the 2020 SEA Games in Vietnam, a gold medal at the 2023 SEA Games, and won the world championship (IESF 2022), as well as the World Cyber Games.

The Mobile Legends team from Indonesia, EVOS Esports was also named the best MLBB team in the world after winning the Mobile Legends World Championship which was held in Malaysia three years ago.

Well, with the Moonton Cares program, it is hoped to make it easier for students to get an education. What do you think?
