Wajima, the birthplace of Go Nagai, initially announced plans to establish this museum in 2005. The museum, which finally opened on Asaichi Street in 2009, displays a number of original works of art created by Go Nagai, including classic works such as Mazinger Z, Cutey Honey, Devilman, and Getter Robo. The museum also displays a 1/9 scale statue of the anime robot Mazinger Z.
As is known, an earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale hit the west coast of Japan, especially the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture, on New Year's Day at 16.10 JST. The tremors were felt as far away as Tokyo and Osaka on the opposite coast of Japan.
