Nafari officially joined Todak, marking a surprising but ambitious move by the Malaysian squad. Todak had just unveiled their official roster for MPL Malaysia Season 16, and the announcement revealed an interesting mix of former Alter Ego figures, ranging from coaching staff to players.

After enduring a historically poor MPL MY Season 15, where Todak failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time ever, many expected the organization to avoid taking risks. However, they had not shied away from returning to Alter Ego’s ecosystem to strengthen their lineup.

Last season, Todak had loaned Magma and Gebe from Alter Ego, but the duo had failed to deliver the expected results. Despite that, it seemed like the so-called “AE Store” remained Todak’s go-to source for experienced talents. This time, however, the figures they had brought in carried far more experience and leadership.

Todak had released an official video on Instagram, showcasing a new, more promising roster filled with regional veterans.

Nafari Joined Todak, Bringing Three Former Alter Ego Figures Along

The announcement confirmed that Nafari had been appointed as Todak's new Head Coach. Alongside him, he had brought Devkoch, the former analyst of Alter Ego X, as his assistant coach, as well as another analyst from the Philippines.

As for the active roster, two Indonesian veterans had also joined Todak: Dreams, who had taken the Roamer role, and Fawndeer, who had filled the EXP Lane position.

While Fawndeer had spent more time competing in MDL than MPL, his mechanical skill and map sense had never been in doubt. Dreams, on the other hand, had already proven himself at the highest level multiple times.

These two Indonesian talents were now surrounded by some of Malaysia’s most experienced players. Mid Laner Zaimsempoi and Jungler Zahyed had retained their spots as the team’s core. Todak had also managed to secure the services of star Gold Laner Lolealz, further elevating the roster’s firepower.

With these changes, Todak appeared more than ready to bounce back from their Season 15 disaster.

A New Era for Todak?

This was not the first time Todak had looked to international additions to rebuild. But this iteration had arguably looked the most solid on paper.

With Nafari's coaching expertise, Dreams' leadership, and Fawndeer's mechanics, Todak might finally have found the formula to rise again in MPL MY.

The presence of trusted Malaysian veterans like Zaimsempoi and Lolealz also provided stability and firepower.

Meanwhile, the addition of an international analyst and the appointment of Devkoch showed that Todak had taken a data-driven, serious approach in reworking their team identity.

Whether this new-look Todak could reclaim its spot at the top of MPL MY remained to be seen. But one thing was clear — the ambition was there, and the pieces were slowly falling into place.

Only time would tell if Todak's gamble on Nafari and his Alter Ego core would turn out to be the breakthrough they had long awaited.
