Netflix’s Yasuke, The First African Samurai, a New Original Anime
Netflix is making a new anime about Yasuke, the first foreigner samurai.

Netflix presents a new original anime. Not too long ago, Netflix released the images of its new anime titled Yasuke. The anime will have 6 episodes and slated to premiere on 29 April 2021.
Yasuke is adapted from a Japanese tale about an African samurai named Yasuke. Although it’s adapted from a real-life story, the theme of Yasuke anime is fantasy and set during the Sengoku era in Japan. The anime tells the story of Yasuke who was forced to be a brutal samurai again to protect a mysterious girl from an evil force.
Yasuke will be managed by MAPPA, a studio that made Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan: The Final Season. The anime is directed by Takeshi Koike (Lupin the Third: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine) and LaKeith Stanfield (Get Out, Atlanta, Sorry to Bother You) is Yasuke’s voice actor.
Yasuke’s story was told in many Japanese children’s books. Around 500 years ago, Yasuke, a tall African man arrived in Japan. He then became the first foreigner to be a samurai and a retainer of Oda Nobunaga, a ruler in the Sengoku era,
