Good news for the fans of 2B and A2. The previously promised NieR Automata Steam patch, which will serve as an upgrade for the early PC version of the game, has a release date. Square Enix who worked on the game confirmed on its product page that the NieR Automata Steam patch will launch on 15 July 2021. They also provide patch notes for updates that confirm some of the changes in this video game. The beauty of NieR Automata graphics that spoil your eyes will look much different because of the newly added 4K textures, anti-aliasing support, borderless video, and also HDR mode.

The NieR Automata Steam patch was introduced after the PC version of NieR Automata Xbox Game Pass was launched. Many people who played it realized that this version was very different from Steam’s NieR Automata which seemed to need some improvements. Square Enix then promised the NieR Automata Steam patch that would "upgrade" the game. What are the game changes and upgrades that occur in this NieR Automata Steam patch? Steam’s NieR Automata Patch Notes

While there aren't too many details about Steam’s NieR Automata patch, some specific changes are mentioned. For example, there will be around 270 new NieR Automata 4K textures added, all of which will go a long way in improving the look of the game.

Cutscenes will run at 60fps once installed, and will usually stay at 60fps as you play. NieR Automata graphics support HDR display, which means it will detect if your monitor has features that support the HDR mode display.

Here’s the full patch note for Steam’s NieR Automata:

• Borderless Video Setting

Implement Borderless Video setting

• FX Fidelity

Added Fidelity FX CAS.

• HDR

The system will detect if HDR is activated in the Windows setting, and will automatically boot the game in HDR if activated.

• Anti-aliasing

Adjust anti-aliasing.

• UI Texture (4K)

Around 270 ui textures for icon, background, UI element, etc, now support 4K resolution.

• Cutscene

The bit rate has been increased and all pre-rendered Cutscenes have been adjusted, so they will now play at 60FPS and render in the correct aspect ratio without having to stretch the image.

• Global Lighting

The new "Global Lighting" feature has been implemented. It can be set to three different levels; High, Medium or Low.

• Ambient Occlusion/ Bloom

The rendering targets for Ambient Occlusion and Bloom effects have been changed to dynamic resolution based on game resolution.

• Bug Fixing

It is now possible to switch between the recently selected display modes for screenshots, such as between full screen and windowed mode or between borderless and windowed modes, by pressing Alt + Enter keys simultaneously.

• Mouse

Mouse will no longer be visible when using a gamepad, the mouse won’t bother you if you prefer playing using a gamepad.

• Frame Rate

Frame Rate has been stabilized at 60FPS under the default settings.

Several improvements related to the stability of the performance of NieR Automata have been implemented in this patch. In addition, NieR Automata games can also be played on PS4, Xbox One and PC and also be available via Xbox game pass.
