An interesting rumor has emerged regarding the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 which will take place next year. Many gamers are waiting enthusiastically for the latest information about this game console, and recently reports have emerged that the Nintendo Switch 2 will use an NVIDIA Ampere GPU which of course contains DLSS technology. However, the latest news says that the DLSS technology used by this console will be different from the standard version found in other NVIDIA GPUs.

DLSS, or Deep Learning Super Sampling, is an advanced technology that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize gaming performance and clarify image quality. This technology works by rendering the game at a lower resolution first, then increasing it to the actual resolution with the help of an AI algorithm. With this technique, game performance can be increased up to two times without reducing image quality.

While DLSS technology looks promising for future gaming consoles, there are doubts regarding its implementation on the Nintendo Switch 2. This is based on information from job listings recently published by Nintendo. In the list, it is stated that Nintendo is looking for a Data Engineer tasked with integrating machine learning technology on platforms with limited power.

It is important to remember that DLSS was introduced by NVIDIA RTX 2000 series graphics cards which had more latitude in terms of technology implementation. On the other hand, Nintendo actually has limited space on the Switch 2, which has smaller dimensions than a regular console. This raises the question of whether the DLSS technology that will be applied to the Nintendo Switch 2 will be the same as that in standard NVIDIA GPUs or will be a more compact version.

The description "optimizing machine learning models to suit power, memory, and CPU" in Nintendo's job listing gives a hint that the DLSS implementation on the Nintendo Switch 2 may have some differences compared to the standard version.

Even though much of the information currently circulating is speculative, it remains a hot topic among the gaming community. Some argue that Nintendo may adapt standard DLSS technology for the Switch 2, while others speculate that there will be custom DLSS developed specifically for the console.

Whatever the result, Nintendo Switch 2 with the presence of DLSS technology, whether standard or special version, will certainly provide a better gaming experience for its players. However, for fans and consumers, what is most important is realistic expectations. If the DLSS coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 is a custom version, users will need to set their expectations accordingly and be prepared for the potential for performance that may be different than anticipated.
