This article will break down Boruto Episode 157. This time, the anime returns to the main storyline, which talking about the mysterious organization called Kara. Naruto tasks Sasuke and Sai to investigate Kara’s location based on Shojoji’s confession.

Even though this episode doesn’t adapt the story from the manga, but we’re instead taken to know more when Konoha is still looking for the exact location of this organization’s whereabouts. Curious about the plot? Have a look!

1. Team 25 Is Skillful on Collecting Intels

This episode is opened with Team 25 who has finished collecting intel. This genin team is tasked to check out the location that was known to be Kara’s hideout - according to Shojoji’s confession

It’s proven true after the team that consists of Hoki Taketori, Hako Kuroi, and Renga Kokubo is skillful in collecting information. So they receive praise from Sai.

2. Amegakure’s Current Condition

Kara’s hideout based on Shojoji’s confession is located on the sewage treatment facility in Amegakure (Hidden Rain Village). This place is so eerie and worsens with the heavy rain that won’t stop in the meantime.

Based on Garashi Touno’s testimony (a character who appears in this episode), the rebuild of Amegakure is yet to start since the last Shinobi World War ends. Many places abandoned to rubble, just like this sewage treatment facility.

As we all know, Amegakure often serves as a battlefield among major nations and has a high rate of crime.

3. Sasuke and Sai’s Investigation

After receiving intel from Team 25, Sasuke and Sai go to the site that suspected to Kara’s hideout.

There, they are blocked by Garashi Touno, a man who already live in this place for a long time.

As the story progresses, it’s later revealed that Garashi attempts to kill Sasuke and Sai with poison gas. Surely these two Konoha ninjas manage to escape from the trap. In the end, Garashi commits suicide after praising Kara.

4. Kara’s Biology Experiments Facility

Yet to explore Kara’s ex-hideout, the sewage walls suddenly crack and crumble. Sai and Sasuke escape riding a Choju Giga bird (Beast Drawing Technique). 

During their escape, it later reveals a hidden room with giant bags. Based on Sasuke’s observation, the room looks like a biology experiment facility.

For those who read the manga, those bags are familiar enough, right?

5. Jigen and Other Members Appear

Before the episode ends, it’s seen that Kara’s members gather together with Jigen.

Based on Jigen’s words, the facility in Amegakure already abandoned for a long time. But he wonders why the place not destroyed long ago while looking at Victor. Even so, the leader of Kara makes sure that nobody knows the real goal of the organization and the plan still keeps on going like normal.

6. Katasuke Tono Will be Freed

Currently, Katasuke is incarcerated because of his previous action in a story against Momoshiki. But Naruto decides to free this scientist because the development of ninja tools slows down. This will become a mark that Katasuke will be involved when meeting Kawaki for the first time.
