Anime & Manga | 16 February
Previously, Senku has succeeded in making a steam train to save Chrome from Tsukasa, despite there are other goals more important than that. Then, how does Senku coat the vehicle so that it can be immune from enemy attacks? Visit this link to watch Dr. Stone season 2 episode 5. Here are some facts from this episode!
1. Steam Train Power
After creating the steam train, Senku intends to put his skills to the test. Incidentally, Magna, who doesn't understand anything about the vehicle, looks arrogant and wants to hold its speed with his body. The others are sure that Magma's body can’t withstand the march of Senku's steam train.
Magma, who feels that he has the strongest body among the rest of the Science Kingdom inhabitants, is arrogant enough that he tries to stop it. Sure enough, Magma, who’s trying to hold it back, gets blown away quite far. Senku explains that human power cannot possibly stop the engine, even as strong as Magma.
2. Steam Gorilla
Before attacking the Tsukasa Kingdom, Senku wants to coat his steam train with a shield as hard as iron. The first step is to make hexagon-shaped woven bamboo as a tire. According to Senku, it is the airless tire NASA invented for exploring planets, while this one is the bamboo version.
Next, is to coat the steam train with a science shield. The reason Senku doesn’t use iron is that it will make it too heavy. He chooses paper, but not an ordinary plain paper. The trick is to boil the grass with sodium hydroxide to soften it. If you want to try it at home, you can use soda powder or bleach.
After cooking the grass, it will become sticky. The next step is to wash the grass, pound it, then dry it, and the paper to coat the steam train is done. The secret to making it hard is melted plastic. Combining the flexibility of paper and the hardness of plastic, it can make carbon fiber.
According to Senku's explanation, carbon fiber is often used in F1 racing cars and rockets. Kinro, who does not believe in the paper, intends to test it. Senku also accepted the challenge. While trying to destroy it, Kinro's spear is destroyed because it cannot penetrate the carbon fiber defenses. Senku then coats all the steam train until it becomes a tank-like vehicle called Steam Gorilla.
3. Tsukasa's trap
Suika manages to find Chrome's prison which can be seen quite clearly from a distance. Tsukasa deliberately placed Chrome in front of a large field so that Senku can be hooked and use a vehicle to destroy it. Tsukasa thinks that Senku can be able to build vehicles in this stone age.
Because of that, he sets a pitfall trap for Senku. Chrome, who is aware of this, immediately looks for a way to help Senku and the others. Finally, he decides to run away first before Senku comes. How can Chrome escape from that prison? Stay tuned for the next episode! So those are some facts from Dr. Stone season 2 episode 5.
