In the previous episode, the two days training camp that Kageyama and Hinata are participating in is over. In Haikyuu season 4 episode 6, they showcase what they have been learning.

Date is improved; their defense is almost impregnable! Read the facts about this week’s episode below!

1. Service Practice

When Hinata returns to Karasuno, Yachi said that the team has a new practice. Yachi places tapes to the net and separates it into 9 sections. The team has been focusing on the serve for the last week. This is coach Ukai’s instruction so the players can concentrate on ball placing during their serve.

Focusing on the taped area is a must on the next level of practice. This will raise the players’ serve accuracy.

2. Kinoshita’s Serve

Before playing against Date, Karasuno starts warming up. They all have their own routine, depending on the things they want to focus on. Asahi practices his serve accuracy, while Tanaka trains his jump serve.

What’s interesting is that Kinoshita successfully perfected his float serve. Nishinoya even failed to dig the float serve. The same can be said about Narita that perfected his float serve. Yamazaki’s float serve is received by Noya. It’s funny since he is the first to master the float serve.

3. Stronger than Shiratorizawa

Shiratorizawa faces Karasuno with their new member. Coach Ukai explains that Date’s block is the best in their prefecture. Their strength is at the national level. Even on the qualification round, they look intimidating.

After half a year, Date improves their blocking. Date’s blocking technique may be the strongest in Haikyuu. Kageyama is under heavy pressure as Karasuno’s setter. This match may be the most challenging than against Shiratorizawa for Kageyama.

4. Bunch Shift

Date uses a different block formation compared to other teams. They use Bunch Shift, where all blockers are concentrated in the middle. The defensive formation allows them to block all incoming attacks because they have the numbers. However, this makes the side defense more challenging.

Date counters the problem with their high speed. Ukai also explained that the team that trains this technique is scary. They will need more strength to beat the blocking.
